You'd think a topic like this would be reserved for 1000 posts. But unfortunately, it seems many of your accounts fall short of that mark. :( BtW, how many times have you hit 900? Oh well, happy 900 (even if it should be over 3000 :P ). -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

AiS--Is this really what you think? If it is, it should be you to leave the boards, not us. If you thinks all us n00bs are nerds, why post anyway? If we all left, you wouldn't be posting, either, so...it's a fair trade. What if it was you. You've played Spiderweb games and liked them and wanted to have your say in the community. You haven't been on this message board before and haven't lurked for years, you just wanted to chat, but you weren't sure of the unwritten rules that [most] people go by. People learn quickly to fit in, but don't expect it after 6 posts. We should be happy for new members. They're new people with (whether it seems like it to you or not) a brain--a brain for new ideas and new topic and new posts and a more active message board, and...if you want to look at it this way more oppotunities to overtake Alorael in post count (not that it's going to happen for a while, though... ;) ). Jethro is a new member that wants to have a good time here reading and posting and having fun. We shouldn't make him fell unwelcome by flaming him on his first topic. I was a newbie once, and so were you, and you didn't want to feel unwelcome. Well, I'm not going to go too much farther here, as I hope I have made my point by now. >_< Jethro, welcome to these boards. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

*siggggghhhh* Should we just forget about Alo's age, if he won't tell us? The suspence is killing me, though. ;) He must be a little old if he had time for 7914 posts. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Well, that's what all the scenario designers do, too. They just give you the privelege and satisfaction of completing the quests to get them. Or getting the money to buy them, but that's a different story. :D But if you need a good weapon...yep, that's the easiest way to go. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Did you just absolutely need it to win in your alpha-testing phase? :P Oh well, everybody makes mistakes; we've learned that. Speaking of an easy break, how about that tunnel leading out of the Experiment Halls in VoDT? People could have easily won without, though I think Jeff (Vogel, in this case) put it there to keep frustrated players from quitting the scenario altogether. ;) -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

The only video games, in my opinion, that could make even slightly good movies would be the ones that have an extensive history before the happening of the game and a very strait-through plot where the player could make few deviations (e.g. sidequests, multiple endings, and optional areas). Otherwise, the movie could only follow one of these plotlines, almost certainly one that the viewer didn't follow when he/she played the game. Unfortunately, Exile is chalk-full of various plotlines. That explains why books make much better movies than games; they have set characters, setting, and plot (whith, BtW, happen to be the three main parts of a good story ;) ). Start of another controversy: Is Alorael really fifty-some-such-thing like the says, or do you think he really a teen-ager like us? Or in between? Once again, I'm off-topic, and now that we're talking about Alorael... And Alo, if this offends you, be sure and tell me. Include your real age, too. ;) I was going to start another poll on this, but now polls are disabled. :( -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Sorry for being off-topic, but I'm curious again. Who on earth is Conan and Drizzt (as I'm now fairly sure you aren't reffering to Mr. Risberg)? I don't watch very many movies at all, so I'm kind of behind on all this again... -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Um, when I played B2 (until I encountered magic, that is :( ), I found a shop with 1-25+16+flaming weapons for sale, if you have 8000 gold for them, that is. :D Anyway, that's the best weapon I've ever encountered (even if I didn't possess it). -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Ooooooooh and/or AUGHBLAUGHBAUGGHHAUUGHDUGHH. :D It's too bad this couldn't be a poll. As for the topic, this is one of those topic like "What if Batman and Captain America fought." So I'm not going to place a bet, mostly because I don't know the two personalities enough yet to make a valid argument. ;) -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Gizmo--I'll always keep the trusty ol' ben4808 in my sig (or a very long time, anyway). I do like to play with my moniker every once in a while, but not near as much as Alorael, or lately, Thuryl. Specifically, I change it every 150 posts, so I'm stuck with this one until the 450 mark. The 4808 is a long story. When I registered with the MSN gaming zone, I tried the name "ben", but of course, it was already taken, and "ben4808" was one of the main suggestions, probably because it was one of the only 4-digit numbers left after the name. *gulp* But anyway, I've kinda stuck with it when I registered here. EDIT: Oh, and BtW, the number 4808 is strikingly close to my 18th birthday, ironically. I never really thought of it that that way. ;) [ Saturday, August 21, 2004 12:45: Message edited by: The Great 4808 ] -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

It must have been pretty lonely here for a while (until a sufficient number of members joined). Just think of how active it would be if two thirds of the almost 5k members here already were active posters. :D -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Oh boy. Everybody note, as similar as TGM's post above looked to mine, it is not the same. :P A striking resemblance, though, a bit different number in the moniker, the same title, only 9 account numbers away, and nearly the same number of posts. There is a difference, though. :P Oh, and Aceron, you won't remember me; I'm a "n00b". -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
