Hmmm...not bad not bad. Nice tune and I quite like how the music feels with the Irish accent. Definately if I ever need music for a BoA mod you'll be one of the people I'd contact.

Keep up the good work,

Question 2. You need to get the opening stone from the giant spiders and when you have it you have to use it (the opening stone will be in the inventory) when your near one of the green doors.

Uhhh...I'm not sure what you are, Have you been to the waste storage place and the control tower yet? To operate either of those controls in the Waste or Contol tower you need to get the papers from Ben (I think thats his name).

Hope that helped,
Thanks,

Greetings,

Hey I joined the Rebels and after blowing up that guys palace (volpe I think) I've managed to get to Buzzard. The problem is I need to talk to someone there but I can't remember who because the note I found after getting out of the sewers said it but I didn't record it. Could you please tell me the person I need to talk to there?

Thanks,

Well for level two mage spells there's a guy in sweetgrove called Axle the sage. For level 2 priest spells theres a women called Somreth in Marralis. As for finding places where you wont get killed try the mines in Blinlock. They're locked so you need to talk to the Mayor and he will let you in. Bringing a priest along in the mines is a big help (lots of undead) There's numerous camps of goblins, brigands etc around vale for some easy exp.

After that just explore the School of Magery I guess and if you're having trouble just be really careful, buy healing, energy and haste potions (haste is extremely good for warriors so you can get into melee quicker and stamina is really good for you mage/priest). Oh and if you have a priest I find the "enduring barrier" spell to be quite helpful for my warrior etc. If you get stuck on a bit and you dont know where to go/do just post it and I and many other people will be glad to help out.

Hope that helps.

BTW what types of characters do you have in your party (e.g Archer, Priest etc)?

Thanks,

Yeah Rushdie was/is not very popular with a lot of the Islamic fanatics. He was issued a Fatwa (I think thats what they called it) by a few people including Ayatollah Khomeini. Fatwa's dictionary meaning is "A legal opinion or ruling issued by an Islamic scholar" and I believe this ruling wanted Rushdie dead, therfore he went into hiding for such a long time.

As for books Robert Jordan is not bad (similiar to Tolkien's epicness) I'm currently reading the first one which is a bit slow to start but from what I've heard the battle scenes in the end and later books (ten books in his trilogy I think) are very impressive.

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

Greetings,

When you order BoA do you just get a game key over the internet and so the shipping and handling part is if you order BoE or that other game that comes on cd?

Thanks,

Greetings,

I've been playing the VoDT scenario and I've come across this dragon lizard queen thats been trapped in the Magic School for ages. Well I've freed her but I forgot to ask for a reward. Problem is that I didn't save before I went on the quest so I dont know if she offered you any good reward. So my question is what is it that she gives you and if she did give you something...is it important for completing the plotline?

Thanks,

Thanks for the informative posts so far. Just a few questions from what you guys have said:

a) Could you tell me the difference between a mage and a wizard?
b) What was the empire like before the creation of Avernum? (I mean was it a prosperous nation etc)
c) Are the Vahnatai now hostile with the Avernites because of their attack on the plague creating labs? And has the alliance swapped from Avernum and Vahnatai to the Empire and Avernum because of Avernum's help with the plague?

Thanks,

Greetings,

I've been thinking about storylines for scenarios but I'm not very familiar with the world in which the game is set. I'll be registering BoA soon but I want to know how I would go about learning about the creatures, conflicts, mythologies etc that inhabit the world of Avernum. Is there a document or something that talks this or would someone be able to post explaining the above?

Thanks,

BoA vs. NWN in Blades of Avernum

Overall I'd have to say BoA. NWN has a massive fan base with heaps of patches from the developer etc. I never really got into NWN maybe because of the weird combat system but I did purchase the first one. I didn't play the rest of the expansion packs. Hordes of the Underdark was supposedly quite good but I've always been a fan of pure turn-based rpg's.

Greetings,

I was scouring the front page for info about Blades of Avernum and discovered that big competition for scenario editing for next year. I only just found out about Spiderweb games so I dont know much about the scenario editor for Blades of Avernum, but I was wondering if it was possible of doing competition like this ever 1 or 2 months depending on popularity:

http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/index.php?option=content&task=blogcategory&id=116&Itemid=90

It's a Baldurs gate 2 four hour/day competition (similiar to the popular cooking show the Iron Chef) where they have to make an interesting mod from scratch in that time period following a selected theme from the person who runs it. I'm not sure if this is possible to do with Blades of Avernum editor but it would be interesting if it could be done.

Thanks,
