Thanks everyone for helping me out here, but it's no use. I asked them and showed it to them yesterday and they still don't trust it. I doubt that they even aknowledge it. Sorry for wasting your time IMAGE(frown000.gif)

I think all it means is that the order can't be cashed at the post office, it has to go through a bank account to be cashed. Like a cheque, you make it out to the name of the company. The company then deposits the money order into a bank account in the company name. Spiderweb's website will give the name you should make the order out to. It's been a few years since I used an international money order, but it worked fine for me that way.
Oh maybe i did misinterpret it, but then by what Milla said:

However,
A couple of months ago I sent an email to Spiderweb asking if they accepted western union money orders and they replied with no. Has anyone else had problems using western union.
it probably eliminates that possibility. I think i might e mail spidweb about it.

I have an unusual request for you fellow spiderwebbers, but i need your help. I live in australia and i have found it increasingly difficult to order the game i have finally slaved to save for.

From the topic "Ordering chrisis and paranoid parents" i took your suggestions to use an international mail order. Unfortunately the mail order must be sent directly to a bank account, of which spidweb does not provide. Credit card is my last option, so the decision lies with my parents.

If you, satisfied customers could give your word that spidweb is a reliable trustworthy company i would much appreciate it. I fear it may be the only way to tide my parents over. They have the right credit card, but they aren't sure wether spidweb is trustworthy.

What i ask of you is a post, telling of your positive experiences with ordering from spiderweb software. If you're an aussie or overseas this is even better so please mention that if you can. My parents are very tentative over international transactions.

You might call this a petition if you like, but your testimonials are my last chance to finally buy the games i love. I ask for your help, and the more responses the better. Thank you.

Although i'm not a uni student i still know what you mean by money problems, at my age i always rely on my parents for it. Which amazingly enough is the problem as my parents give me nothing.

It's getting better now though that i have a casual job at mcdonalds (it better be worth it) because i finally got my first pay yesterday! Meagre but enough so that next pay day i can get my first spidweb game! IMAGE(biggrin0.gif)

But that's besides the point. I realise you must be really busy at uni but if you have enough time and can actually study well whilst holding down a job, a casual job would be good for you. Otherwise you might have to make do with what you can get, or might have ask your parents for help.

Okay i'll just be short xD

Happy belated easter! Easter seems to be over here in Australia anyway. I haven't watched the passion of the christ in cinema yet, but i'm fairly sure it'll probably be back there again to see in a 10 year aniversary or something.

It's hard to compare old and new movies just for the fact that the technologies were completely different. In the older days when we didn't have the computerised special effects moviemakers had to find more difficult ways to entertain an audience though better techniques, performance and story. Now some moviemakers don't think we really need that anymore because most of the population is entertained enough through the special effects and take the easy way out of it, with exeptions.

Most of the time it all boils down to people's own preferences. People like what they like and they'll watch what they want, but that shouldn't mean they shouldn't be closed-minded about certain movies. I think in this case we can change 'never judge a book by it's cover' with 'never judge a movie by its age' because you never know if you'll like something different if you never see it.

Age probably has a lot to do with it also. Generally small kids aren't going to want to watch old movies, unless they were made for kids. (Generally) a large population of teens like movies with little plot and overly done special effects. I think that by the age of 12 most people will choose to either diversitise or join the crowd. My guess is that we tend to divirsitise more as we get older.

As for me i'm a great fan of classic comedy and those english type of comedies. I love a good dose of monty python and some hetty wainthrop, i also saw some special on tv the other day about an old show called 'candid camera' which i still haven't recovered from. I still love some jim carey though, sometimes you just can't help but laugh at completely stupid face contortions xD

I'm not too much of a fan of old dramas exept for a few classics, but generally i agree that most movies made these days aren't really up to scratch, save some really good exeptions. Maybe bad movies like need for speed, scary movie 3 and honey are made to balance out really good ones like lotr and gladiator.

(Edit: spelling mistake.)

Whoa! This is one of the most original ideas i've seen for quite a while in a poem, it brings a new twist to some of the more usual poetry about love. Honestly i've never read a poem that long and didn't think i'd get through it interested the whole way but this one did it for me.

For some reason i always love the smell of books, new and old. It's strange though that children's books always have this really distinctive smell but still nice and toxic.

Thanks, although i'd hate to wait anymore for it i think that by mail order would be my best bet. You've all been a great help and i'm so relived that FINALLY after nine years i'll actually be able to finish exile. I've decided to get avernum first though, i know i haven't tried BoE yet but the first avernum storyline is just something that will kill me if i don't get to see what happens. Well i better go off and slave for that money then..

I've been a fan of spidweb games ever since i was six, and yet i've never actually been able to buy any of the games because i had no finances. But now i'm 15, starting a job so i'll be able to get some money. I'm willing to pay my parents the money back if they'll buy what i want for me. The only problem is that they're completely paranoid about giving away credit card details and i have a sure feeling they'll say no if i say the slightest thing wrong. They might even just say no anyway, but i need some help from you spiderwebbers - what's the best way to go about asking them?

And if they do say yes, what's the best way to order it? I live in australia so i can't order by mail since i have no idea how to make it into US currency. That takes too long anyway. I was thinking paypal for myself but you have to be over 18 for that. So i ask your input or opinions because i don't think i can wait another 3 years before i can finally finish exile.

Should there be a new competition at Spidweb? in General

Well i suppose it would be something like a scenario design competition or similar, but it looks like it's not likely to happen soon anyway. Jeff kindly replied to my e mail:

"We never really ran contests like that, I'm afraid, except as a scenario design contest. We won't have one of those for quite a while. SOrry!

Oh well. :| At least there's a possible 'maybe' involved, although i've gotten enough of that from my parents.

LOL yes i didn't notice the spelling mistakes, but then again i did write them properly the first two times i tired to write it, before my computer crashed. As i said before i'm new here, and i only ever played Exile so i wouldn't know about Nethergate, but by your rating it dosen't seem like it's a very good game.

I don't really care what's involved in the competition, either way it would be a bit of fun and a way to win one of their games. Hehe you could guess i voted for exile, just a tad bit obsessed that's all. :P

I'm new here but i've heard that there have been competitions in the past at spiderweb. Do you think there should be a competition, and if so to win what game? (Multiple game options in poll.)
