Animal Party, as I see it you are getting one, opening over-debated topics, replying to finished one will not being useful, unreading replies which answers you questions and then whining about it. You said you have been off for three weeks but the view last post feature show this was not the right time. For the last time lambda is a letter, used with people, users, quakers and so on, it is about the majority of these (at least that is so wheere I live and if you wonder it's written in the third post I made on this topic). Edit : Arancaytar said most of this but I was not speaking about occasionnal spammer but people like Zephyr Tempest, the Wielder of Ice (no offense) [ Monday, September 01, 2003 11:49: Message edited by: So Incredibly Sad ] -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

I don't care about whether you are straight, gay or bisexual. Lambda people are non-spammer. Party animal you looks like one of them unless you haven't sleep in 3 days and have spurious logic. -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

How much should we tolerate double posting ? Looks like there has been a case of double double posting bug. [ Monday, September 01, 2003 11:06: Message edited by: So Incredibly Sad ] -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

In simpler terms : how non spammers should act toward spammers, which are not exactly "fellow members" (at least while they are spamming. I don't think of Motrax of a spammer anymore) Where I live "lambda people" is used to refer to the majority of the community, so if most of the people on this board are trolls or gays then… -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

I was wondering about how should the lambda users deal with spammers ? I guess spammers aren't considered fellow members. -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

CoC : "If they do perform such an action [lock a topic], they must either describe the topic's infraction on the Moderator Forum or actually move the topic there." So he did have to even if it was clear why it was locked. I agree that there isn't much to say now. -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

I don't think that he must send a messsage to drakey but rather make a post on the moderator's board, ef speaks of the next time they meet, then why a board ? I didn't made screenshots has it won't have been useful to describe the situation. I agree with the way this board is run and sure a moderator can close a topic without asking anyone but a post in the moderator's board would be good(even if it says nothing, at least we could see a new post is there ). Alorael has not made a major transgression because not reporting is listed neither as a minor nor as a major transgression but, theoricaly if a moderator close a topic every day without reporting why… we can complain to another moderator (hoping it is not a conspiracy of evil blademasters having taken Jeff hostage or being illuminated ). Being back at 125mg/dl I see this topic as come to what seems an end and that it wasn't really worth much. Thank you for reading. Drakefyre is right and so was Alorael when he judged that this topic was to be closed, but a week later he hadn't send a post to say what it was to the moderator's board. "Moderators are expected to uphold the Code of Conduct" "Any major transgression is to be reported on the "Moderators are not exempt from the Code of Conduct themselves. A minor infraction will result in a stern warning. A major transgression will result in probable revoking of his/her moderator status. Any two breaches of the Code of Conduct will certainly result in the removal of moderator status." "What constitutes a major transgression for a moderator: (…) -Abuse of lock, delete, and move powers Moderator Forum, so all moderators and administrators can deal with the member"" An older version of the CoC stated : "iii. If you have a problem with a moderator, please tell us about it. If we get multiple complaints, we will look into the situation and take action. " I don't have any problem with Anorael and certainly don't want to see anyone banned. This topic was to be closed so there is no real point removing moderator's status. I am just bugged. thank you for reading. -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

Quoting the code of conduct : "Moderators can lock and delete topics as well. They should only use such powers on topics that violate the Code of Conduct. If they do perform such an action, they must either describe the topic's infraction on the Moderator Forum or actually move the topic there." Three facts : - "continue the story" is a topic wich started on 22/7/2003 - it was closed on 23/7/2003 - the last post on the moderator's board was made on 19/7/2003 Althought I think Alorael does a good job, the fact that he closed the "continue the story…" topic without sending informations to the moderator board bugs me. I agree that it was to be closed but if moderators don't follow the code I will have a hard time trying. Didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, guess it is hypergligaemia. So no collaboration, but then what about a sci-fi game ? I remember reading someone complaining about having difficulties finding objects to interact with, I also remember Sim City 2000 where you could have a 90° shift of view. it might be possible to modify the isometric engineif enough graphics are provided but it might need a new engine… -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

I said fantasoft because they have already worked with them, but as far as I am concerned I would prefer ambrosia software. -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

Sorry if I wasn't very clear. What I am speaking of is a spiderweb/fantasoft sci-fi RPgame (not a BoE scenario), with a new game engine, probably a new universe and so on. Yes we are going to be interested when GF3 will come out and yes spiderweb will not stop producing games, but what about another kind of games ? -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

I don't know what you think of fantsoft. As spiderweb software and fantasoft worked together for EI, when it was about fantasy, and both of them have made progress into sci-fi games (namely geneforge and new centurion), I was wondering the possibility of a new game. When they will have finished BoA, they might think of a new trilogy or game. Interested ? -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

In many computer RPG players turn into "gros bill", saying they have the best items, skills and whatever. In paranoia they have an opportunity to learn about the role-play part of these games. It's the hard way, but do they deserve any better ? -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

Maybe you can name them after celebrities, here are my favorites : - Vassili Zaïtsev for a great archer - Lez-Breiz for a warrior - Alan Kardec for a mage - Jean Paul X for a clerc (or any pope's name and number) I guess you have got the point Thank you for reading the corrected version of this post. I name them for their role (i.e. mage, clerc, clerc-magi, warrior, trader…), but as I like to have a little of everything and one major skill it is very handy at first and then you can rename them (if I read mage active, I will probably not make this one attack). Else, as far as I am concerned, I tend to name my Playing characters by paper RPG PCs names and I get these for their meaning (Camille, young man, make a good Geneforge name) or I take the PCs name of friends (it can be quite fun to let them die) One of my friend name them as her cats and stop playing one if the cat dies, I don't say you to do it as you may dislike cats and her exile partys are strange: 1_ Celim first generation, good stats, good level 2_ Roxanne second generation, replace Sulky, medium 3_ ***** Mirabelle, second generation is lost 4_ Kaiser third generation low stats and level 5_ Sprite second generation same as Roxanne 6_ Amanda first generation good stats and level I know it is not really an answer but it would have taken a huge amount of time to name my 52 most common names. Thank you for reading this far. -------------------- /Seawinds are calling Posts: 187 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |
