I'd just turn up the dial up once more, and if he dies, well too bad for him. If he doesn't die, leave the dial at four and collect the $200. Why would you turn the dial any more? The more the dial gets turned up, the more chance he dies, and even if you don't get held responsible, killing someone for no apparent reason apart from money is a cruel thing to do.

Simply select 'All topics' in this forum, then go to the latest sequel update topic. I think the link should still work.

I don't think you understand me.
Lets say your two numbers are 4 and 10. (They don't add up to 42 though so don't try them).
Now convert them into binary:
4: 100
10: 1010
So put rocks on the green barriers according to the binary numbers:
0 0 1 0 0
B B B B B

0 1 0 1 0
B B B B B

where B = barrier.
For 1 put 1 rock, for 0 put 0 rocks. Simple.
(I can't remember how many green barriers there were so I'm putting five here. Actually I think there were six or seven.)

In forty-two you just have to think of two numbers that add up to 42, then convert them into binary. (If you don't know how to convert into binary I'm not telling you.) Then place rocks on the barriers according to the binary numbers - for a 1 you put a rock, for an 0 you put no rock. Simple.

If you've got someone continually pushing 'clone all':
When player presses trigger, explosives explode, horizontal boxes explode, then up cloners explode with no 9x9 explosion graphic. They then either disappear, or change into horizontal box!
Incidentally horizontal boxes can't be cloned at all, and vertical boxes can't be cloned horizontally.

I've just realised something. While I was looking at the ST2 level list, I noticed a few levels had things like 'spring' or 'slimey' in their names.
Because of graphic changing, these objects are no longer called their original names, so probably the level names need changing too.

I think Crystal Shard has either moved webpage or been bought by some other company (which is unlikely), so a lot of links have to change (which they haven't done for a week or two).

Incidentally, Radiant, this is not a bug but I couldn't find any other useful topic I could put it into, in 'oops' I think the hard gem quota was 27 and the easy gem quota was 29. Could you change that please? (ie change the easy quota to 27 and the hard quota to 29)

Strange thing:
PPPPPPPPPMW
P=player (multiple players)
M=marble
W=wall
When players walk onto marble, they all go onto the marble i.e. there is only one player visible on the marble!
When they walk off, they do it one by one.
A bug, or deliberate?

NB. I tried it four times and it still happened, so its not a 'freak bug'.

1. The 'change all' option doen't work when you click with the middle mouse button, only changing the object currently at first mouse button.

2. As you can cross gates and ports onto marble, shouldn't passage boxes do that too?

3. You can only buy things from Shoppes after you have collected at least 1 gem (i.e. you can't buy stuff right at the start), and also the gem quota can't go over the original gem quota.

4. You can pick up multiples of the same tool, but you can't buy multiples of the same tool.

5. When a granite rock lands on a box generator, naturally it doesn't fall through, but when the player walks on and off the generator, it falls through with no box-destroying graphic.

6. In the master object list, the doggie prefers up, down, left, and right pretzels in that order, but actually it prefers right, left, down and up pretzels in that order.

Consistency issue?
And also, while I was making a level with ST, like once before, the player was able to walk off the screen and past the 'barrier wall' that surrounds small levels. Flowstone also did this. I pressed escape, space, and the game quit.
I then started up the game again, made a replica of the small level, and it didn't happen.
And not only that, in the master object list, it says that lasers activate mover buttons. They don't.

While we're on the topic of bugs, I've found a strange thing:
You know how, when you clone dirt, it moves on motion fields? Consider this diagram:
+WD-V
^<<<<

+ is the trigger
W is wall
D is dirt
- is the cloner
<^V are motion fields.
1. Player steps on trigger, then moves off.
2. Dirt goes on motion fields, and onto trigger.
3. 2nd dirt gets cloned, goes on motion fields and stops at last one because its blocked, but trigger is activated again .
4. 3rd dirt goes on motion fields and stops. Cloner stops.
5. Player steps up to dirt on trigger and can't take it .
6. Player moves away; trigger is activated again and so on.
Note that this works with 2nd piece of dirt as well.

It's happening again.
I think what is going on is that when a level has lots of moving objects, my computer can't cope with them all moving at once, so it freezes. But this only seems to happen once in a while, so maybe I'm wrong.

At first it was just with one level, but it was like that in the editor.
However, it doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

When I run Subterra and play a level, it freezes. I alt-tab out and back in, and it is working. Then, after a few seconds, it freezes again. And so on. Why?
Also I would like to repeat what I said in a previous topic: The links to extra levels etc don't work, since crystal shard site seems to have changed. And I can't get the extra levels (third design contest levels etc)

"Exciting and relaxing at the same time, SubTerra is guaranteed to provide you with many hours of pure enjoyment and fine entertainment, enhancing your ability to project, to solve problems, to create your own treasure hunt. With so many levels, you will never be stuck in a dead end, and there are so many different types of level that you're bound to be good at some of them! The game is produced by Crystal Shard, a small Dutch firm, and can be downloaded from the official site as well as here. Formerly shareware, the now-free registered version gives you you access to all 50 as well as all the downloadable expansions. Don't lose this chance of sheer enjoyment! SubTerra is NEAT!"

All 50?
Besides, if it was suddenly released as freeware, someone would say in this forum.

I'm trying to access a previous topic, in order to download the level design contest results. But even when I select 'show all topics' it only shows a few. And the links above to 'addition level sets' '3rd design contest' etc don't work.

Probably Animal Training. I haven't played ST1 for a long time (since I've been playing ST2) so I don't know the number, and I can't get a screenshot.

I was just fooling around with three players, a few bombs and a few walls, when I was surprised by all three players simply walking off the screen!
I haven't been able to repliciate it yet, though. Maybe it was just a freak bug.
Possible bug:
When you use time stopped, get tool and stand on munchkin, when time stops you lose your tool but theres no 'eat tool' graphic.
EDIT: 100 posts! Yay!

Bug:
When you start surrounded by 4 linkboxes, and to the right are some left-moving motion fields, and you move onto the motion fields, some wierd things can happen, eg nonexistent linkboxes. This also happens with sorter and other motion fields.
Bug:
When you push linkbox onto water, it turns to goo, but the image of the water still remains though you can walk on it.
Possible bug:
When sorcorer moves toward wall, and at the moment it hits the wall, it generates something that it can walk on (eg arrow), it reverses direction. Otherwise it turns left.
Note that only sorcorers, warriors and golems are affected by arrows.

A question: How are you doing in music and sound?
Because in my opinion, a game's not a game if it doesn't have some sort of music or sound.
Bug:
When you push a rock onto a demon, the explosion misses out the centre bit.
