Double shot's a good idea, but what about "Power Shot". A skill that allows your arrows to tear throught the first enenmy hitting enemies behind him.

Note that enemies must be in straight line.

I suppose, but I'd like to find a way to enforce it more.

For example, in my preposed scenerio, you don't need to use the prebuilt character to understand the game better, you need to use the prebuilt to understand the game at all!

The scenerio is about one person in particular. It wouldn't make sense for four people to embark on this quest.

I haven't made the items page yet, I was suggesting it to Drakefyre.

I guess I might as well now though.

I'll be sure to make it 100% Mac friendly.

Be that as it may, I personally prefer the free automap, especialy when exploring new towns. It allows me to watch both how much I've explored the town as well as lets me put the stuff I pick up in my inventory without switching back and forth.

Also, I have been informed that a Blades of Avernum clone will provide all the levels of customization that BoA won't.

I'll probably do scenerios for both, seeing as how the clone is freeware.

As for the party sharing thing, I think it ruins the game. Scenerio editors will have no way of knowing how experienced the players entering their scenerios will be. Thus Blademaster characters with 10,000 skill points could enter a wimpy scenerio and plow right through it completely missing the clever details and well thought out story.

Besides, the scenerio I was planning on doing was a Singleton, the story was about the single character going on a quest to find himself. On the way facing a multitude of physical and psycological hurdles.

Anyways, thank you once again for your seasoned wisdom.

I was using style sheets for the text colour, It probably defaulted to black - the same as the background.

I changed the colour in the body tag.

It should work now.

Gaaah! I use CSS on my site. as well as tables and a multitude of other non Mac friendly things! I'll fix my site eventually. Until then, use a PC to access my site.

I've also updated my Blades of Avernum page for those who would like to sample the item tiles Drakefyre wouldn't accept. I've fixed the display issue by changing the Bitmaps to Gif files. If there are any further problems with my site, please inform me so I can remedy this.

I've sent a set of terrain tiles in Gif format. Expect much more very soon. Next I'm working on a set of about 20-40 trees, 5-6 wall and floor texture sets and 12 gysers and fountains in addition to a whole whack of sculpture and art terrain effects.

I'm completely stumped as to why these pictures don't show up on your macs. The seem to show perfectly on three PCs I've used. I beleive it's a compatability issue with my host server. If anyone especially wants to see my item sets, leave your e-mail and I'll and I'll send them to you.

On another note, I've taken the advice of Drakefyre and have bugun on a set of outdoor tiles. I expect to upload some new tiles by Monday the 12th. I'll tell my web hoster about your problem and I'm sure they'll try to figure out what's wrong.

I should've known.

My website uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS),
there may be a conflict with Netscape or your web software. If you have a version of IE 5.0 or later the site should show up properly.

If you see a box with a red X underneath my Blogg, it may be a server issue. It seems to display fine from my system, I should've posted a warning for Mac Users, My most sincere apologies.

I will, however take your advice regarding landscape and monster tiles to heart. I have already begun developing many humanoid (NPC) creature sets as well as the monster sets I began earlier.

Also, regarding the release date of BoA, I am gitty with anticipation and need something to occupy myself, I might as well be productive.

sorry about the inconvienience, and yes, I have made an entire player character set which I intend to post on monday. I am also working on Kobold and Bear monster sets. As for terrain, I'm looking for textures to adapt for walls and floors, but it's difficult and labourous work. However I hope you find something of use on my site for the time being.

        Hello Again. Motekye here, since the well anticipated Blades of Avernum doesn't seem to want to come out yet, I've begun to develop many costom graphics in anticipation of this event. I don't have a full time job or any real resposibilites, so I might as well lose sleep over this. I plan to make hundreds of costom tiles before the release of Blades of Avernum, so if you're into using costom tiles, you may want to bookmark my website, Motekye.8m.com[/url]. Note that it's popup city until I pay for Hasta La Banner. Also note the articulate yet simple design I've made and notice the vibrant colours which do not in any way resemble this post. Anywho, you can probably count on me as a steady source of BoA tiles, long rants and other great things. Please respond Via this forum or my e-mail if you have any ideas you would like me to make tiles out of. Right now, I'm focusing on item tiles for the time being, but any suggestion is valued. Thank you once again for your prompt replies and well thought out ideas.

I worry that perhaps Blades of Avernum won't provide the level of costomization neccessary to make an effective scenerio editor. For instance, I wonder if BoA will allow for setting maximum party members or changing the amount of starting skill points or disabiling or creating new skills altogether.

I for one would like to change the interface back to a free automap like in Nethergate and allow more / less party members. I could easily create graphics for new player character races, but what about changing the racial adjustments? I also wonder if new spells could be created.

Frankly I think in addition to providing Blades of Avernum, Spiderweb might also consider posting the source code to the Avernum series. I think it would be much easier on the programmers and allow for a level of tweaking un-heard of in regular scenerio editors.

Just a thought.

I suppose it's really a matter of taste and finding places where creative genius flourishes. I also agree whole heartedly that Spiderweb should be supported by the masses that supply money so Spiderweb can continue to churn out great new games.

Although most of the costom BoE/BoA graphics are good, it would probably quench a lot of thirsty Avernum fans just to take existing graphics and change the colours.

Perhaps resistance works like a curve and gets lower as your score gets higher, or maybe there's a measure put in by the programmers to stop people from doing what you did!

Too big for his proccessor in Blades of Avernum

        Hey everyone, in an attempt to counter the huge quantity of utterly unplayable games on the market, many weeks ago I decided to create a massive roleplaying game with a powerful and enthralling plot as well as deviously and entertaining sub-plots. As you may already know, just about everybody and their dog are building an RPG using the BoA engine. Not to contradict my previous statement however, many of them I look forward to playing and giving feedback on. I already have an enourmous map done and plans for a 100% open ended game. The problem is, I don't know how I can cut down to make all this game data run on even the fastest computer. I think I've gone overboard and need a stiff kick in the groin to get some sense back. Either that or maybe a new game idea. I can bet most of you have had this problem, so please tell me how you deal with the impossibly complex RPG you plan to build. And don't forget to try it if it ever gets off the drawing board.
