Avernum 4 is now available via Bigfish Games. I just used my monthly credit (I have an account) to buy it. I love Jeff's games - I like Exile better than Avernum though but I already own all of them.

www.spidweb.com has had A4 for sale for quite a while, you know. That's the company's official website. They've released two more games since then, although one was a remake.

Be nice to people who buy my games.

I was happy to learn that Big Fish got Avernum 4 up. Thanks for letting me know.

I checked out their site, I'm on a Mac but their credit packages for games aren't too bad on the pricing. Depending on what package you have Kat Zarai probably got the game at a significant discount. And who can argue with saving money.

I might never have bought Avernum 4 if it hadn't shown up on BigFish. I like Exile much better - ancient graphics and all. I was buying the Geneforge series - albeit slowly.

Avernum 5 should be a hell of a lot better.
And the graphics...Jeff really has no choice.

What is wrong with the graphics?? Yes, they are not state of the art 3D but they do the job of conveying the world around you. If you want 'crappy' graphics go replay Exile - they were never wonderful but we liked the game in spite of them.
A far bigger problem in my view, is the fact that we've lost a third of our party! Me = Exile player.

Some people like the previous Avernum graphics or Exile graphics over the Geneforge-esque style graphics incorporated into A4.

You people are all crazy. Everyone knows graphics are best when they are black-and-white stick figures. :P
