"Too late- I already slew the guard." I think he means he slew the spider guard who was keeping him from the Chitrachs. But even if you do that, you won't find the opening stone, becuase you'll need to complete the spider chief's quest in order to actually find the stone. You can't get that item until you have been farther into the school, so don't forget where those GIFTS are. —Alorael, who found plenty of Piercing Crystals. The trick is to find ways around most of the barriers, to just grit your teeth and wade through fire barriers, and to realize that a good number of the rooms that are only accessible by using Piercing Crystals actually contain more Piercing Crystals anyway. wow, it took me THIS long, ten years, to figure out gifts is giant intelligent freindly talking spiders lol, im a moron, anyway, if you did kill one (i love doing that, theyre annoying, not cute... thats tentacle :D ) then you might want to restart, i never registered to boe, so i just kept editing vodt over and over till i had a bunch of super powerful items, and enemies, lol. (brew of skills, 10 skill points per drink x 100 drinks, lol.
