Castle of the Winds is too much of a classic rogue-style for anyone over 15 to not already have an abandonware copy, not to mention intellectual copyright respect. Besides, Jeff tends to focus (almost obsessively) on being original. Hmm. I wouldn't mind seeing a Castle remake for BoA. If it included both parts and used the medium correctly (a ground-up rebuild instead of a simple tile-by-tile port) it might actually go over well. -------------------- The Silent Assassin can. By Lenar: quote:Well, five of his games are remakes... of his own games. I've never heard of that before, so yeah. ;) -------------------- I invented the cordless extension cord. - Steven Wright Posts: 1509 | Registered: Tuesday, January 10 2006 08:00 |

quote:Actually, A4, the fifth game, is completly original. So, only four of his games are remakes of his own games. Unless your counting N:R, which I wouldn't as it's not out yet. -------------------- All praise the greatest mod of all time! Long live Master Aran! Making a proper Castle of the Winds remake would need to add several spells to duplicate the teleport ones. Also that game really needed bags of holding the way loot piled up. Also monsters had a definite tracking system to find you that would have to be scripted in to the game. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I'd like to see a Victorian-Lovecraftian RPG. Perhaps like a dark mystery! That would be totally awesome. I've been playing way too many point-n-click games lol Posts: 17 | Registered: Monday, October 21 2002 07:00 |

A Sci-Fi/Post-Apoc roguelike with the ability to free roam, lan-play and craft your own weapons, fish, etc. I know it'll never happen. EDIT: Or steampunk with the same features. [ Monday, May 21, 2007 08:32: Message edited by: jamesmcm ] Posts: 59 | Registered: Thursday, December 7 2006 08:00 |

I think that a historical game would be good. Perhaps with firearms as it gives something to replace the magic. It would be nice as it would make a change to all these fantasy games with wizards and demons and crap. Or make a Pirates-esque game where everything is based at sea. Just make something different from Tolkien-esque fantasy worlds! Posts: 59 | Registered: Thursday, December 7 2006 08:00 |

One problem with a sea-based game; lack of variety. -------------------- WWJD? Posts: 1384 | Registered: Tuesday, February 6 2007 08:00 |
