Like who? It sounds like you mean TM, but he didn't exactly join the community when a game came out. Things were different before Spiderweb had its own boards. —Alorael, who has never seen any particular backlash against newbies with a new game before. He thinks it has more to do with last month's sudden surge in posts and surge in pointless posts as well. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Read the post again. Do you notice something unusual with the formatting? ;) -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. Posts: 2686 | Registered: Friday, September 8 2006 07:00 |

You see, now this is truly an impressive sight. I commend you, Nioca, on your taking the time to try out an in-joke. Took me a while to get it, sadly... but then again, I try really hard to forget that guy. Yay for newbs who learn! -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. There's a whole series of tragicomic ex-Spiderwebbers. Shotts and Vince/Tails are the ones who come to mind for me, but I'm sure there are others. They're not really members of the community, though. They occasionally become in-jokes, but they fade pretty quickly. —Alorael, who also doesn't think any of the true troublemakers came with a new game. There are always a few here today, gone tomorrow spammers, but true trolling takes diligence and dedication beyond the usual new game fans. The question, then, is where the true trolls actually come from. I agree - they're not the same as the game noobs. Take this Tech Support topic with two (fairly benign) posts by Eraser Head. Strikes me as a literate, if immature and spiteful individual. No comparison with hostile oldbies like TM, or even UA or Ed Lemur, but far removed from Ed. Unless Ed was acting, of course. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I don't know why you think UA and Ed Lemur are so bad? I don't know whether it's a good idea to start making inside jokes about Ed. It gives him publicity that he doesn't deserve. Nioca, were you lurking before you joined this September. I just find that you making inside jokes about Ed or TM would be similar to me making inside jokes about, say, Djur and Scorp. -------------------- For three thousand years, the elves were unable to access their artefact in the storeroom warded against teleportation. That puts your posts per day in perspective. I guess you're making up for lost time. —Alorael, who thinks every forum needs its goofballs. UA is odd, but he's really (mostly) harmless. Ed was an irritant that made the forums a less pleasant place, and the same can be said for most of his ilk. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

No extremism please! The boards need to stay welcoming lest we become deeply entrenched internet xenophobes hellbent on solidifying the community. If anyone still cares, what do you think of the topics like the Naruto Quiz one? -------------------- Thuryl: I mean, most of us don't go around consuming our own bodily fluids, no matter how delicious they are. ==== Alorael: War and violence would end if we all had each other's babies! ==== Drakefyre: Those are hideous mangos. Well, I think Naruto is the spawn of Satan, but other than that, it wasn't too bad. :P -------------------- "You're drinking liquor because you're thirsty? Extremism in defence of literacy is no vice. We must have clarity otherwise we will be overrun by chaos. Some of the questions in the game forums need to be translated before they can be answered. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
