Why was the topic I started locked and why did I get a lot worse rating from it than before?

Because it was basically a spam topic, and there are too many spam topics going already.

Dikiyoba.

Edit: Typo.

That was a higher quality form of spam than we're used to. Normally, we get pithy, undiluted stuff. But that was pure, unadultered spam.

Sorry about that. It just seemed to me a little more valid than another similar topic.

But I'm not one to talk. I won't do that again.

You can rank posts on a scale that is pretty much a product of their usefulness and the coherence. I'm afraid neither was really spectacular...

Out of curiosity... is there any way of finding out who has had the highest number of their topics locked?

TM, I should say. If not, then Shaper Lord or Commander Edward, or one of those goatse posters that we've had every now and then.

Dikiyoba doesn't know how much valid information that would provide. After all, some topics start off very useful and are only locked because they get out of control several pages later. And the worst topics are often just deleted.

Warning: Mockery below. Please do not read if you have blood pressure problems and no sense of humor.

Who has started the most immediately locked topics? Probably spammers. But of tolerated Spiderweb members, TM.

—Alorael, who uses tolerated somewhat loosely. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that TM is tolerant. While this seems rather incorrect at first glance, there are important biological ramifications.

The PPP does not keep track of whether topics are locked or open (although it would be a nice additional feature if I ever have time). However, here is a topic starter ranking that does not take into account lockage:

+------+--------------------------------+--------+
| id | displayed_name | topics |
+------+--------------------------------+--------+
| 4 | Keto-san | 153 |
| 4506 | Archmagus Micael | 128 |
| 3151 | Custer | 78 |
| 4045 | Kelandon | 76 |
| 2339 | Zephyr Tempest. | 69 |
| 15 | Silent Motion | 66 |
| 2210 | I'll Steal Your Toast | 65 |
| 3349 | Toenail and Matisyahu | 63 |
| 40 | Archmage Alex | 59 |
| 3431 | Student of Trinity | 56 |
| 2064 | Yours Sincerely, The Boogyman. | 53 |
| 2984 | Man with a Thousand Names | 50 |
| 1 | Spidweb | 49 |
| 4614 | Sturg | 48 |
| 1528 | Icshi | 45 |
| 1993 | spy-there | 44 |
| 2385 | For Nathan Ashby | 42 |
| 6 | *i | 42 |
| 5991 | Shuan Wuan | 42 |
| 5977 | Mc 'mini' Thralni | 41 |
+------+--------------------------------+--------+
Edit: Note that this was up-to-date as of half a year ago.

Ed most likely, with him coming up with a new log in and getting pretty much every one of his topics locked.

What's happened to TM anyways?

Hey, could we get a stat for "total number of posts in topics started by member"? This would be at least a rough measure of how well people do at entertaining the masses by initiating popular discussions.

I can rarley find a topic started that is that interesting. Most of them just seem to be able to draw a couple comments then everyone starts arguing about something and the list goes on.

Or how many undead topics they started. :P If you make that, a simple calculation to do a stat for "average number of posts in topics started by member" would also be nice.

Don't worry about your rating, GremlinJoe. At all. It means nothing.

48 topics for me. I didn't think I'd started that many, but I did. But only one was locked because it was just a junky non-essential topic.
