I see that topic: Was he TM? Or is Ash Lael? Anyway, if he was TM, I think he deserved it (the ban) that time. The topic that he opened was only for joking the last things that are happeneds. 'tis a tribute to the one and only Ash. Compare to the kind of inspiring scene where in "Spartacus" (a film I only read about on Wikipedia btw), everyone gets up one by one saying "I am Spartacus". Or, if you favor less action-packed movies, the equally inspiring scene in "Dead Poets' Society" (a film I read the book of, but never saw) where, at the end, all the students climb on their desk in a mute protest as their English teacher Mr. Keating leaves the classroom. What passed between Jeff and Ash is unrelated. What Ash did might have been impolite, and also unwise, but the punishment did not fit the crime. Oh my. The latest in the AshbyGate fiasco. I think by now everyone should be aware that protesting JV's habits by misquoting him will result in a ban. What TM did was akin to insulting a dragon after it has gnawed off all but one of your limbs. As Thuryl mentioned in another thread, TM was not banned for changing his sig. He was banned for various things he has done and was warned about, including evading the swear filter. The news of TM being banned has made my day all the better. Actually, I don't really hate him. He's just a little overbearing and egotistical. I somehow get the feeling that these happenings will slow things down around here... the fear of banning seems to be spreading, and the quickly-growing swamp of topics that is General is getting louder. Soon things will probably crash, followed by a long quiet period. TM will be missed just as much as Ash, though moniker changes probably won't happen. I'm not terribly surprised that he got banned, really... actually, I'm impressed that he lasted this long. Most of you know how I feel about TM, and his current offense is very different from Ash's in intent, but even I think that banning him was way overboard. Has he done something extraordinary recently that I simply haven't noticed? If the signature was the proverbial straw, the camel must've wanted its back broken - compared to some of his other actions and statements, it's nothing. Nothing at all. Odd as it feels, I'm against TM's banning. If I've missed something major, tell me. EDIT: Well, I personally prefer Ash to TM, so no, my moniker won't change. And it's scary, but you're probably right about the crash. As has been noted before, TM posted in a manner which allowed certain offensive words to appear despite the protective barriers in place. That said, yes it does seem evident that TM was looking to get banned. Actually, he was BANNED. Subtle but important distinction, especially with the grammar police on high alert. TM's ban will expire on March 16... and no, it wasn't for the signature. It was, rather, for an excess of rule-shattering. Conditions for Ash's return have been proposed, but I'm not sure how they're coming or if they have been or will be accepted. EDIT: And since I see E-Master has made a fool out of himself, he's banned too.
