I'll be away for a few days to attend a high school reunion in the middle of nowhere. I'm likely to have little or no internet access during that time, so if you send me an email or PM, don't be surprised if you have to wait for a response. Hopefully I can trust the rest of you to hold the fort in my absence.

Who will keep order and defend the people while Thuryl is away!?

Oh, right. The admins and the other mods.

Oh. Right!

When the cat's away, the mice may play, but when the cat comes back, the naughty mice get swatted into unconsciousness and duly devoured. The naughty mice are on time-delay camera after all.

Aren't high school reunions generally held 10 years from Grad?

Some schools have five-year reunions. Mine didn't, and I'm glad for it, as I now have time to finish law school and get an impressive-sounding job to rub in everyone's faces at the ten-year reunion, which is really what it's all about. Man, I hated high school. Of course, the people who aren't successful likely won't show up, but there you go.

My five-year undergrad reunion, on the other hand, was a blast.

I don't find it extremely meaningful to fly across the country to periodically meet people I've not seen in 20 years. My peer group knows first hand how effective I am in my work, and I'm not the type of person that needs to tell old friends just how successful I have become. On one hand I could walk away thinking about how they were more successful than I, and on the other I could just make them feel like feces because their lives are essentially meaningless.

I don't see the net gain.

True, but your not going to actually meet them. Just to, as Drew said, rub in their faces your impressive-sounding job. Well, I came here (NY) in my senior year so I didn't make that many friends in high school and seriously doubt that I'll ever go to the reunion. And Dominicans don't do high school reunions or even colleges that I know of, but the city where I lived in was so small, well most cities are in the country, that you get to see half of your graduation class at least twice a week so it's not really necessary.
On the other hand, it's so sad to see you gone Thuryl, I hope you get back soon, and I'm sure you'll be missed. Have fun

Goldenking grumbles. Pulls out a healer from AV3 and pays her to revive them. Then tells them to attack Eldibs. While the GIFTS annoy him, and the serviles cater to his whims. His chars grab his hands and goldenking breaks the Mega Missle Launcher with his Goldensword. :D ;) :P ;) :D

The Mega Missile Launcher is keyed to my DNA. Besides, It's tied to the holster on my back with an indestructable rope with a know that is keyed to my DNA.

*takes the MML back, and turns goldenking and all the healers loyal to him, and all those weak-willed enough to join him, into a pile of fine ash, then disintegrates all the ash with acid.*

I win.
