Who here has seen this film yet? I mean, I have never seen a film with better music in my life.
Although, admittedly, most of the "protagonists" are filler... -_-

Believe it or not, I have actually heard of this, or something very similar. With names so long, it's hard to tell apart.

You suggest, yes?

Well, aren't you a repulsive excuse.

Afraid to try new things? Buying into cultural racism?

Well, no, its just that a lot of the anime things I have seen are just futuristic robo-cop shows. And I don't like Japanese movies because, well, I'm too lazy to read the subtitles, even if I can make the words out on the screen.

I love Anime movies, and Japanese ones the best. All my fav Cartoons are Japanese (or chinese or something): Ranma, DBZ, Sailor Moon (maybe I grew out of it, but it was my fav cartoon growing up and I won't leave it behind), Case Closed, Slam Dunk, and so many more.

I watched DBZ for a while (the Majin Buu ones) until I saw the episode where Goku becomes a Super Saiyan III. He starts screaming about seven minutes into the show, and it lasts right until the commercials. Then, when the show returns after the commercials, he continues screaming for another five minutes. During this whole time, there is literally nothing happening. That's when I looked at the show with a slightly more critical eye and realized just how little talent the writers have.

I like Gundam, but none of that alternate universe crap, especially Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny. Those were absolutely horrible.

Lol, it def sounds like DBZ to me, though it has more of a DBGT tone. I started watching it when I was 8, so a part of me will always love it (specially during freeza and cell). However, DBGT was just too anoying to watch. I just bothered to watch the ending which I hated. I just realized that 90% of all Japanese Animes I've seen had crappy endings.

Crappy endings?

I trust you don't know of Love Hina.

Since talk about DBZ has ensued, I just have to link to this.

Note: Make sure you have sound on before watching.

I'm a fan of some anime and I detest most non-anime-style cartoons, as they arouse emotions ranging from either vague disinterest (...well, most) to actual physical disgust. (Most "adult comedy" cartoons other than South Park, really.)

That said, I don't watch much television (heck, I don't even own one) so most of what I watch, which isn't very much, is anime on my computer, usually on recommendation from friends.

Or Gundam SEED Destiny. Just 'cuz.

I said I watched GSD even though it came... anti-recommended. :P

That said, I'd gladly take Gundam Wing over it any day of the week. Or just some new show, since I'm currently following 0 shows.

I'm quite the opposite. I love non-anime (Tom & Jerry rules), and detest all anime cartoons, and they only arouse disgustedness for me.

Well, it's probably that I just don't like modern humor cartoons. I certainly liked Tom and Jerry and pretty much all the rest of the Looney Toons when I was a little kid.

The only older cartoon I remember hating was Scooby Doo, although there may be others I saw which were so unreasonably stupid that I've long since forgotten them.

I read Drowtales occasionally, although that is Manga rather than Anime (I'm not quite sure of the distinction, except that the latter appears to be movie-based).

It is true that Manga/Anime cartoons are drawn in a very odd style different from other cartoons, and the enormous eyes and somewhat unrealistic anatomy of the characters takes some time getting used to. But as long as they weren't translated in Zerowing style ("All your base..."), they're not that awful.

LotR written by the DBZ writers:

"This foe is beyond any of you... his power Level has reached at least 30,000 after fighting every Dwarf in Moria. Ki Fhy to the gate Aragorn, you must lead them on!" The muscles beneath Gandalf's Grey Cloak strained in anticipation of the coming battle.

Soon after, when they were nearly at the gate, the Balrog launched a surprise Ki attack, knocking down Borrmir and stunning Blazing Fist Gimli.

Gandfalf turned to face him. "Fool!" said he, I don't have time for this nonsense... "Pure Flame of Arnor Shield Wall Strike!" The massive energy wall streaked off towards the Balrog, who was knocked flying... though no-one was sure whether or not he had wings.

"Raaaaauuuugggg! Gandalf, I have not shown you my true power!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaa...

five minutes later

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Now I am a Super Balrog 2!!!!! My power level has gone up to 3 million!"

Gandalf just smirked. "I probably shoud have told you, after you left the service of Eru, we figured out a few new tricks. Here's a good one:

Kaaaaaaaaaa------Meeeeeeee------Haaaaaaqa-----
Meeeeee----

-The Balrog laughed in anticipation of Gndalf's feeble attack-

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The resulting explosion threw the Balrog back agaoinst the walls of Moria. His expression turned to one of complete disbelief. "Urrrghhh.... Ahhh... Ugghhhhh.... That's...not possible...."

The rest of the Fellowship of the Z Ring stared, twitching slightly and grunting in awe at Gandalf!

Gandalf grinned, "another one of those tricks I learned... I learned how to Hide my POWER level!"
I always thought it was an exaggeration.

Amusingly enough, that's fairly close to an actual DBZ fight. It just attempts to be insulting to DBZ by comparing it to Lord of the Rings, which is a very, very different sort of story. Apples and oranges.

For the record, Pure Flame of Arnor Shield Wall Strike is worse than any attack name in DBZ. (And no one insists on ridiculous titles like Blazing Fist.)
