Well, I figured out a way how to save polls :/. Unfortunately, I've no idea what I'm doing in English :P .

This purge doesn't affect the dusty and closed Misc. right? Just checking.

EDIT: You know what? Hands off! I claim all of Geneforge. Mwah.

It's afternoon now. I'll decide in the evening which pages I'll do.

The Avernums: Avernum 3 has very good walkthroughs, Avernum 1 has Silver Harloe's annotated map. So maybe we should concentrate more on Avernum 2?

ef, if I get what you are saying, then maybe if the time gets tight we should look to cut down. At the moment we are looking at saving all the fora that are going to be affected.

I've e-mailed Spiderweb to ask for a time extension.

EDIT: Page 8 complete. From Alas it must be. - General Board Purge to Bidding a farewell... not a good-bye. Ironically, the page that the old PPP was on. Moving onwards to page 7.

I don't believe in cut downs. I most certainly will try as much as I can to get everything safe, even if it seems like waste of time, and space. Which it might be, but the memories of those topics would haunt me. I'd rather they didn't.

Unless I run out of space, of course.

Hmmm... I thought that the block of locked topics at the top of page 9gen, were saved in the last project because they were bumped.

I'll ask RC if he knows. If they were saved, he'll have them and it'll cut down on work.

Oops, almost ran out of space.. Good thing I managed to clear away some pictures, freed 3x650megs. They were big pictures.

Anyway, page9 done, and that's spore batons to Geneforge 2... Wishlist?

Okey list has been updated. Page 6 is done. Which is all of General except for page 9, but that can wait until this confusion over it has cleared.

Well, working on second-hand translation here, but; Polls: right-click, select Show source, save the text as HTML. And that's basically it, but anyone who knows better is free to explain more fluently.

EDIT: Page 7 done, and when I'm done with Geneforge, I'll probably tackle some Avernum ones.

Since Mariann said all those topics that haven't been posted in the last 45 days will be purged, wouldn't it be enough if I just saved the topics from Geneforge till page 5?
And add page 5 to done as well. Now to get over the distress of hearing that Geneforge may not be amongst those to be purged. All that hard work.. in vain. Damn you :P

EDIT3: Eh, guess I'll just go and save page 9 of General. [done: Gather around, people. to Site Sucking Software? , without the three David said he got.]

Erm... Riibu, when I select to see the last 45 of the Geneforge forum, it only gives me halfway down page one. I'm really not quite sure what you selected, but might it have been the wrong number?

Also, when following your method I can only save it as a .txt file. So if anyone s feeling that they have a spare couple of minutes the polls from Subterra would be much appreciated.

However, keep up the good work Riibu, and you JMAN, and for that, matter everyone making a contribution.

The last 45...? O.o What are you talking about? Do you mean the Show topics one? I have it automatically on Show all topics :/.

Look, when you type in the name for the poll, just put .html after it, and it won't be saved as just text.

And I have now from help plz to Last button to push out of 25-27, Avernum.

EDIT: Oh! Eh, whoops.. topics on page 5 are from 2003, not 2004. My mistake, shall go and save the rest now.

We have been granted a small reprive;

I have between Alas it must be. - General Board Purge on page 8, Riibu has between Site Sucking Software? and Gather around, people. (except for the three that SD has), Kel has between Looking for recommendation and Spiderweb Newbie Looking to Find a Good RPG to Begin With.

These all gel, meaning that General is complete. Kel has already completed Nethergate. Our efforts should now be concentrated towards the remainder of the Avernum Trilogy and the Exile Trilogy.

Right, Geneforge not important now. Hum, well.. Avernum 22-24 for me then, though I'm not sure if I can save all those today because my computer's acting up and refusing to behave even when I threaten it with a restart.

Yeah, no problem FatBatMonkey, it was just that, since I was the only one doing them at that time, I didn't think it would be an imminent issue. Anyways, I have completed 28-56, from "Ruined Tower" to "D20 Avernum Rules" I'll be taking a break, since my eyes need it, hopefully I'll do a little more after dinner (on the East coast here).

Practically all the polls in Avernum say 'This poll has been moved to another forum'. That can't be good.

Will any of the mods save the topics from theirs?

As for the first, if the actual topic itself hasn't been moved and it says that, the polls themselves have probably been deleted.

As for the second, does a mod want to answer that? Do you wish to save the mysterious Mod Forum? Do you just talk about the weather in there, or swap cake recipes?

Also, if we have time, how about saving Announcements? They're as much apart of SW history as any of these fora.

t FatBatMonkey, It wasn't a miscount, just the wrong page, I do infact have 28 and 29, I merely accidentally gave you the top of 30, it is indeed "help plz" to D20 Avernum Rules" instead of what I said before. Hope that clears it up.

Okay, I'll add Announcements to the list. Though I can't do anything about the Mod Forum. So if all the mods could gather round and discuss whether they want their brownie recipes saved, then apoint someone to acquire the pages if they do.
