You could try Realmz (www.fantasoft.com, I believe). It's extremely rough around the edges, as well as being rough in the center, and the midpoints between the center and the edges. However, it is a different game in the same sort of style, and is fun for quite a while. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1614 | Registered: Wednesday, January 23 2002 08:00 |

I wouldn't recommend Realmz. It kind of sucks. By kind of I mean really. First off you have to pay for each and every scenario. Once you register the game you get full access to one loosely made scenario that seems to lack an over all goal. It's kind of like a paragraph with random sentences in it. The Diablo series is great. I had a lot of fun with that. Also, if my memory's correct, Ambrosia Software has an RPG game. Posts: 1918 | Registered: Sunday, October 13 2002 07:00 |

Okay, since when has Diablo been a RPG? It is hack and slash. Baldur's Gate and Fallout series. They are true RPGs. -------------------- Saundersw3: And bitter is better! Posts: 995 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Definitely Planescape! You can get it along with Soulbringer (another RPG) in a twin pack at Wal-Mart for $10. -------------------- The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'. This is not a RPG but I would get Manic Mansion 2, Day of the Tenticles. It's possibly the funniest game I have ever played. But if you're in the mood for a more serious game I would get Desperence 1 or 2. It isn't a RPG either and it's more of a shoot them up game like Doom, but it's fun. And if you want a more intelligent game I would buy Indiana Jonnes and The Secret of Atlantis, which is a RPG. Anyway all of the games I've mentiond are fun and interesting. -------------------- Look Ma, I'm banned! Posts: 1046 | Registered: Friday, March 22 2002 08:00 |

Outcast. The graphics are 'experimental', which isn't a good thing, but it's the only game I've played where the game-world is realistically populated, and there are an amazing number of side-quests. On top of that, the storyline manages to seem like it isn't going to work, and then work, in a hugely impressive way. -E- -------------------- Let them eat cake! Polaris Boards: The System is Up. Whoever was talking about Ambrosia's RPG: POG SUCKS. I was so hopeful that it would be a good game, like everything else at Ambrosia, but I gave up that false hope after a few days of playing it. It's really not worth it. Don't waste your money on Pillars of Granderall, buy Diablo II instead. If you're looking for other games besides RPG's, though, http://www.ambrosiasw.com/ is a great site. If you're a mac-user, that is. They only have one or two PC games. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. I heard Diablos is good. I don't know what it's about though, except the fact that it's about Santan. Anyway FF8 is a good RPG, I heard FF7 is good too. But I never played FF7. If you're into Action games I would buy House of The Dead 1 or 2. But Resident Evil one or two is a good RPG about Zombies. -------------------- Look Ma, I'm banned! Final Fantasy 7 is the best spend you'll ever make, apart from BoE. If I could reccomend it to you enough, I would, though I'm currently lacking words strong enough to describe this game's quality. Oh, and Fallout 1 and 2 are excellent. Can't vouch for Fallout: Tactics; Imban says it's okay, and Brett says it's good. -------------------- We're all amazed but not amused By all the things that you said you'd do. Its a fun JRPG,it has a talking frog,a robot,a girl-nerd and most important it doesn't have random batles. Edit Redux:Actualy,i shouldn't use words "fun" or "nice" in my posts.Changes are other people don't like things i like. *Chances. And it's ok to describe them that way, everyone else describes games that way shamelessly whether others like them or not. Because how else can you describe good games? =] I can't pass any judgement on that particular game though, I've never played it. I've heard of it though... don't know where... -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. Ultima! I believe the entire Ultima series (or at least some eight parts thereof) is available in a single package for very cheap, check at origin or electronic arts store. In story-line, they're among the best. And they have some funky spells that are seldom seen in other rpgs (most notably VCBM ) -------------------- Freude, schöner Götterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium, Wir betreten feuertrunken, Himmlische, dein Heilighthum! *thinks for a second* Vas Corp Bet Mani = Armageddon, right? Quite true, most games do not allow you to destroy almost everything in the world with a single spell. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |
