Ok, so I know how to get the special skills and what they do and so on. What I want to know is, what the exact effect of Blademaster is compared to pole, melee, strength and dex. Most other skills are descriped by percentages; def gives 5% less chance to get hit, pole gives 5% more chance to hit and gives more damage depending on the weapon. Does anyone know the calculations for special skills do you just have to play it by ear? Thanks ps. A thing I've always really liked about Avernum is that you get all (most of them) the numbers given to you: Like Magic Resistance is LCK + MAG/2 + DEX/4. This way you know what's smart to do with your points. Weee! I got through it.. that encounter at least and I have several herbs left - but dammit I used a Hardiness Philter just before the last text  The trick about not going into combat worked awesomely. Evrey tore everything to bits before they could get to me :D -------------------- A blunt object suddenly crashing into your skull saves you the trouble of falling asleep. No, it's alright. It' a while since I played any BoA so just had to get the feel back. Anyway I have one last question. What would be smart to spend my skillpoints on? And must I use them in the beginning - I've seen no other safe-place to train. -------------------- A blunt object suddenly crashing into your skull saves you the trouble of falling asleep. Thanks alot. In my third retry of this scenario I've managed to not use a single pot yet (Erasmus dead). Btw, what is up with that Fire Draught - I found I wasted lot's herbs thinking it was remotely useful which, I find, it isn't. -------------------- A blunt object suddenly crashing into your skull saves you the trouble of falling asleep. First of all, great job Lazarus with your beatiful, well told, and simply thrilling scenario that is Frostbite. So far has been very fun and VERY challenging. My first attempt was utter failure, not getting all herbs, not knowing the "checkpoints" hence wasting potions. I only got as far as to the banshees that kicked my butt. In this second attempt I've got to the point where I'm surrounded by hordes of warg riders - and I have no clue whatsoever of how to survive that. When I saw what was going on I was sure the Beast would jump from a cliff scaring all the riders off, but, after a few textboxes, they just slaughter me. Please tell me I've missed a secret trap door or something and that I don't have to fight off the whole lot. Thanks in advance.. Posts: 15 | Registered: Friday, March 30 2007 07:00 |

Hello everyone. I was wondering if any of you use different character graphics than the standards when you play the BoA scenarios. In case you do, what do you use and where can I find them? I thought about making them myself, but abandoned the thought when I looked at some figures I drew some time ago.. they weren't good :( Then I thought. Someone should make a compilation with new graphics.. someone with art skill, or just ability to collect some nice art. Oh, and btw, sorry for not looking the forum through very thoroughly. I don't trust my luck in this case. Posts: 15 | Registered: Friday, March 30 2007 07:00 |

I am on a regular, mundane WindowsXP PC. Thralni, I can't find the 3D Editor for windows on the page you linked. [ Sunday, April 01, 2007 11:05: Message edited by: Lokiron ] Posts: 15 | Registered: Friday, March 30 2007 07:00 |

Hello everyone. I've just registered BoA and I want to try to make some scenarios myself. But I have no experience except for an invader game I made in 8. grade.. So I was wondering if anyone could take the time to give me some advise about every aspect of designing. Which applications should I download, what should I read, and so on. Sorry for being late for this great discussion.. and late buying the game. I am actually buying BoA right now - that is I await the confirmation e-mail and my key! I want to play now!! :D Anyway, just wanted to say *slash wave* to all of you BoA'ers. I am really glad to see such enthusiasm, because that means, hehe, more great scenarios for me :D But how could it not sale well? The concept is nothing but brilliant and the scene is.. well.. AVERNUM!! Whatever, just my contribution to your faith in the game :) [ Saturday, March 31, 2007 17:02: Message edited by: Lokiron ] Posts: 15 | Registered: Friday, March 30 2007 07:00 |

Hmmm.. what a shame.. I love old school fantasy music like there is in the intros and in many old games. But I suppose if that's his style there's nothing to do about it. On the other hand I kind of agree with him. I tend to turn off all music in games and play my own in the background - which, I guess, I'll continue to do.. Ok.. I just proved to myself at least I am in fact a completely inept n00b of DOOM. I hit the back button on my mouse just as I had written a nice thought out (and my first) post here. Of course it's about music, specifically the lack of it in the previous Avernums. A shame I think, especially since the intros are of high musical quality. So my plea is: Include more music in the upcoming Avernum 5. I hope the community will support this bold suggestion enough to at least make Jeff consider it. ps. I found no better place to discuss A5 than in the A4 forums, where everyone else seems to do it.
