Salmon -- Because guns are specifically designed to kill/injure things. While it is possible to use cars, knives, and paint to kill, they have other uses namely transportation, cutting, and, well, painting.

Unfortunately, banning guns probably will not work. It will not prevent people from getting them if they really want them. While it might make it more difficult, those truly motivated can get almost anything.

Synergy: Let's not be armchair generals here. It is easy to sit back and state what people could have done and we would like to think we would act bravely in the same situation. However, it is very difficult to act unprepared at a moment's notice unless one has had the training/experience to do so. Let us not judge the victims of this crime. Chances are we will never know all the details.

By about this time, a Fryoa should becoming fairly useless. Kyshaaks serve mostly as a meat shield. If you want something of comparable attack power for this stage in the game go for the Drayk.

I guess if you want to you could do it. I wouldn't recommend it, however, as such things have been used a total of zero times.

The four stars is somewhat nebulous, I would suspect it lost that star from the graphical deficiencies. One can only guess, I suppose.

Well, April Fools day is almost over by my clock and I really don't see a point in keeping this open much longer. TM is gone, for better or worse, until Jeff changes his mind.

None of the doors in question can be opened, I believe. The eyebeast is probably behind the pink circle in the lab.

Joined the Spiderweb community sometime in 1996, about the time Exile III was released, was ~13 at the time. Bought Blades of Exile when it first came out, started designing immediately, released Spy's Quest. Began beta-testing for Spiderweb starting at Nethergate. Sometime later on joined the Ikonboards and became a mod.

Graduated high school, went to college, released At the Gallows Fall of my freshman year. Designed Spears, released that my sophomore year. Made Emulations released summer prior to junior year. Became an admin somewhere around this time. Got busy with school, beta tested Blades of Avernum, created A Perfect Forest, released early in my senior year. Got even more busy, graduated, had an internship between that and grad school.

Started grad school, Spiderweb becomes less important in my life as the Blades of Exile community dies out. Thought about designing again, but just don't have the time nor motivation to really do it anymore. Now finishing up my second year of grad school, not participating nearly as much anymore. Time goes by so fast...

Regarding TM, Jeff Vogel himself said that he is to be permanently banned. I allowed him to come back for the duration of the contest for judging purposes (the agreement was he not post in any non-contest related topics) and his account was terminated soon after.

While many might not agree with Jeff Vogel's decision, and I personally feel it is regrettable, in the end we must remember that these boards exist as property of Spiderweb Software. The only way for TM to return is to have Jeff Vogel himself change his mind on his status.

Just because I do not post, does not mean I do not watch. While I am busy, I usually check over the boards. I generally leave things up to the mods to handle the day to day affairs of locking topics, yelling at people, etc. If I see one that is particularly bad, I'll close it myself.

Usually things have to be fairly serious to merit administrative action. Realistically all an admin does is ban people and take similar decisive action. Over the past couple months, there hasn't been anything really serious enough for an admin to get involved.

The SIZE intrinsic will return the array dimensions. Between functions/subroutines you can, as a crude and dirty way, specifically pass the lengths as an arguments:

SUBROUTINE test(xyz,siz_xyz)
IMPLICIT NONE
INTEGER :: siz_xyz
REAL(8), DIMENSION(siz_xyz) :: xyz
...
Otherwise you can use INTERFACE blocks as well to perform these tasks with assumed shape arrays.
