I don't know about everyone else, but I think libertarianism is a little strange. If everyone was in control of themselves, and there was no central government, and whatever I do is okay as long as I don't hurt someone else, who would do something if someone bothered you?!? You would then defend yourself, bothering the other person, and sending off a chain reaction. I think there needs to be a central government, just not as corrupt as ours is today.

And TM, are you a flaming communist anarchist? I have taken hints from Bandits and Bandits 2. I cast Magic Map once, and there was some kind of anarchy message in the corner, what was that about?

I don't know if this has been discussed before, or if this belongs in the exile boards. But it seems to me that the Exile Trilogy is loosly based on the American Revolution. Outcasts sent to a new world? It sounds similar. What do you all think?
(If this has been talked about before, just let me know.)

Also, what Blades Scenarios, and other Spidweb games throws philosophy in the mix?

I don't know if this is the right place to post questions for this scenario, or if I email them. If I have to email, someone just let me know.

So, I have eaten the bloodroot plant, and had the hallucination. I am now in a place called Taste and I don't know what to do.

Hmmm... I have several favorite deserts. Nutella, with some ice cream is one. I don't think it is regional though. And Spanikopida, or Banitsa (I dont know if I am spelling those right) with either chocolate or apple filling hits the spot as well. Yummy...

I am making some customs items in my scenario. I am wondering which is more powerful, Ogreish Gaunlets, or Giantish Gaunlets?

Ok all, I'm back after a short delay. I have been working and I have a few more questions.
1: I am encountering a problem with names of people and towns. I have already made use of TM's random town name generator, but I can't seem to come up with a name for my main character. Any advice on this?
2: I am also wondering about the protocol for a beta-call. Though I am nowhere near it, I would like to know the protocol.

I am making a rest special in a town. That is why I was wondering maybe that would help you help me :)

Also, how do you make a dialoge message that pops up once and only once. I tried "One shots-display message" but that doesnt work.

Thanks *I. But a few more questions will come up later on. They probably are not very long, and I am not trying to get my post count up or anything. So first, how many moves counts as a day? Is it every 187 moves?

One major obstacle that I have encountered playing this scenario. I have school, and my weekends are packed. Does anyone have any advice for that?

But in the process of making one scenario, I needed an explination for why you started where you did. That led me to thinking "ok, I need a short scenario in order to have this one make sense. And it will be good for me to start small, and even if I don't finish the second one, I will at least have made something" ya know? And also I am wondering if I should even make one because it seems BoE is dying. And with Spidweb's treatment towards BoE, possible their greatest creation, I am not too optimistic. But I do think that there will be a small community of die-hard BoE lovers that will still put out a good scenario every once in a while, no matter how much other games outshadow it, or wether its designers totally neglect it. Am I right? Or do I have some empty optimism?

Thanks Kelandon. I don't think I gave too much away, just intro text, nothing haveing to do with the actual plot. But thanks a lot for the advice.

I don't really know what I want to be yet. I know I am going to fininsh High School by the time I am 16 or so. I will be taking AP classes and go to UNM for some classes there. I want a liberal arts degree, and hope to get a Masters somewhere back east.

I also see a lot of people have an interest in philosophy and music. I am interested in both and have two comments relating to them:

1: Has anyone read Sophie's World? It is a novel about the history of philosophy. It is a truely ingenious book and I still have a way to go Marx, Hegel, etc. I reccomend it to anyone who has an interest in philosophy or wants to know a little about it. Though the book goes covers each philosopher rather well.

2. Does anyone on here like Ani DiFranco? Or even know who she is? I like her A LOT, her music, and powerful political stuff is just awesome. I don't like her because of her stuff realated to sexuality, but more of the music and protest stuff. She is involved in so many awesome projects; she really makes a difference. I haven't met too many people who really like her. Well, people who aren't women or homosexual anyway.

"Being adventurers can be tough. Fighting goblins, ghouls, power-hungry magi, weird, demented humanoids, evil empires, and collecting mass amounts of treasure can get monotonous, even tiresome. Not to mention what healers are charging nowadays! Adventuring can be hard on the ‘ol back too... Rare is the species of adventurer that explores the depths of his own soul and meaning of existence. While, of course, whacking a few heads off in the process. Surely there is more than becoming rich and famous? There must be some adventure that has a truly fulfilling ending, if it has an ending at all..."

What do you all think?

This is gonig to be the intro text to my scenario, The Fourth Tower: Prelude. I don't know if that is a good name. If anyone else has a substitute for "prelude" do tell. I am hoping the whole think will consist of at least two parts. I am starting small with the Prelude. So if I don't get both of 'em out, I hope I am not shunned by the community. I hope I can at least get this one out...

I am currently writing a scenario and I have a little dillemma, and I need all of you opinions. I would have a poll but we don't have that option anymore. (does anyone know why?)

I was writing the intro text to my scenario, and a prelude evolved from it. So I decided to make this prelude, for it will be small and will should be easy to make. But I am leaning towards having a custom 1 PC party. I personally did not like playing scenarios with prefab parties. What does everyone think about this?

In response to your comment Rosie, I do think that Jeff Vogel deserves SOME respect. I mean without him, we wouldn't be here on this webboard. Certianly he doesn't deserve the respect of The Creator and TM and company, but some at least. And, a good friend of mine's last name is Vogel as well.

Don't stop designing Mr.TM.(if that title is annoying, let me know) You display extrordinary creativity in your scenarios, and the fact you can put out good scenarios in a short time is amazing. I think it is great people still are making scenarios for BoE. I am currently working on one, just to try to keep it alive. I am still considering buying BoA but I am not so sure... what would you all reccomend? And Mr.Shyguy, that is a rather daring letter. I think it is awesome you would write something like that to Jeff.

Yes, Mr. TM is suppposed to signify respect. While I am at it, Mr. Alorael, Mr.Thuryl, etc... And Bacilli simplify conversations, I have not recieved your chicha yet. Though several tucans have flown by lately, none of them have carried chichas. Archmage Alex, am I going on extensively about minor things? I just thought that your post was suggesting I was so...

Is the Lyceum a better place to post about Blades? I just feel I know this place better and prefer to stick around here. Will I still get better feedback from the pros there? And are there people there that don't hang out at Spiderweb?

PS TM, I noticed in Bandits 2 you have something mentioning anarchy in one of your maps. Do you mean real anarchy(not accepting systems for systems exist for the purpose to perpetuate the system, not what the system originally stood for)
or the chaos anarchy? Anywho, I still think it is cool you infused politics in such a weird and cool way in a scenario.

We have the NM state fair. I have never been there though. My class is going on a field trip there on Friday actually. I can't go though because I take quite a few classes outside of the standard classes for my grade and I can't miss all the work. It would be too much.

Hmmm... I am glad to see that my thread is turning out so nicely. I never thought I could attract 48 replies or whatever it is. Do you all consider my sudden outburst in my first post:

quote:
"*In a high pitch voice*TRA-LALA WHAMBAM...SHIZAM! OOGLE WOOGLE MOOGLE
*In a low, despondent evil menace tone*
MWA HA HA HA HAAAA...."
Is considered an act of insanity? Or rather, evidence that what little sanity I had before I joined is now at the door? If not, what are some acts of insanity?

And Ms. Magic Hunter Grrrl, thank you for your very nice compliment. You know, I don't get that one every day. Actually I don't get that one at all. And I am very honored to have such folks as Alorael, Drakefyre, Thuryl, and Mr. TM ( I LOVE your scenarios! Especially the Bandits series. I'm still working on #2 though.) post on my thread. And if I didn't mention your name, its not because you are not important, I just saw and read a lot of these guys' posts as a wanderer.

And also, thanks 'yall for posting. It feels good to get replies; especially in a new place, it makes you feel welcome. :)

Hmmm... I must say, I really appreciate all of your responses... it helps to know that people actually are still willing to reply to these "newbie posts". However, I must ask several questions about your replies... how does Ben act? How specifically are these people's behaviour bad? Rowen? What makes your acting bad? Is there a link to a thread you could post? I am not trying to generate bad talk about other people, or to get to goody-goody for that manner; and if you think telling me how people act is bad, don't reply. I don't want you or I to get in trouble.

I have been lurking among these boards as a wonderer for some time now. I am not only amazed by the games, but the whole little society on these boards, and I really would like to be a part of it all. I have actually been hooked on the Exile Trilogy and BoE since I got the demos on a Mac Addict CD all those years ago... And I see there are quite a few posts like this... when newbies say hello, and everyone who are inclined to say hello say so. And I hate to be repetitive and meaningless in my first post... so I would like to make this post a little different from the rest of newbie posts by saying...
*In a high pitch voice*TRA-LALA WHAMBAM...SHIZAM! OOGLE WOOGLE MOOGLE
*In a low, despondent evil menace tone*
MWA HA HA HA HAAAA....

And if I have made you all think I am a fool and just publicly embarassed myself... I apologize and beg for all of you for your respect and forgivenes...

Oh, and hello everybody! :)

PS. Is there an unofficial list of rules that I need to abide by of a list of requirements or something like that?
