Consider yourself un-elited again. There will be no additional elements on the table. What you see is what you get. Once they're all taken people will just have to stay dead. Or fight each other for spots.

[mumbling]Of all the nerve, trying to bring yet another nonsense element onto MY table. No respect at all...[/mumbling] :P

As for why...

Calcium as in chicken egg shells, though those are technically calcium carbonate, the calcium part is the more unique factor in there.

Sulfur due to the rotten egg smell, and the amusing link to demons, thinking in the direction of Monkey Island's El Pollo Diablo, not to mention amusing mishaps when someone might think sulfur and demons are very linked.

Both are already taken. Check the table here for available elements.

I chose Nickel because it sounds like Nikki, because it's magnetic, and because Cobalt is taken. Only one of the three is about it's name, too.
You are correct. One is about the name, one is an 'I like it', and one is no attempt at all. :P

You don't have to add much, just tell me why magnetic fits you. If I have to do it myself it'll end up something like this...

"It's magnetic and with his gorgeously long locks, Nikki is a babe magnet!" ;)

Seeing how Episode 4's thread is already at page 7 I'm seperating this.

Updates have been made for 32, 63, 67, 73, 89, and 93. Now, I'd like to have your attention...

-2 Delicious Vlish-
-14 Wise Man-
-31 Rakshasi-

36 Archmage Alex
38 Smoo-
40 Redstart-
41 Niemand-
46 FBM-
48 Tonail-
49 Kyrek
50 Synergy
53 Lenar Labs
56 Sir David-
59 Andraste
62 Shaun Waun-
68 Erika Maroonmark
70 Smugglers
75 kenn5
79 Golden King
85 Silent Assassin-

95 Drew
96 Wanderer-
99 Enraged Slith-
103 The Lurker-
107 Demonslayer-
109 ADoS-
114 Wonko the Sane-

If your name is on this list, your connection to your element has yet to be established and it should be. Those with dashes were appointed by Diki, the rest were either plays on the name, I like it's, or no attempt at all. The two with ?'s are shakey. I may accept them as is, but If I can get something more that'd be great.

Anyone who would like to make a connection on behalf of one of the above is welcome and much appreciated. I, myself, am at a loss for what to put for the anti elements that don't really exsist.

For those who refuse to conform...
*gets out eraser menacingly*

*Becomes an enabler*

I grant Riibu Germanium. In its pure state, this metalloid is crystalline, brittle, and retains its lustre in air at room temperature. Beautiful but fragile. The oxide form also has the unusual property of having a high refractive index for visible light, but transparent to infrared light. Invisibility anyone?

Afterthought: Let's not forget her 'connection' to our resident German. ;)

*sighs*

That's not really an anecdote, and anecdote probably isn't the best word to describe what I want... I want you to read about the properties of Neptunium and somehow connect at least one property or use to your personality or character. There are plenty of examples on the table to look at.

Instead of 'I think it's cool/I like it because' look for an 'I'm very reactive or stable or complex'.

Closer but no pipe. :P This is a play on the elements name, not a play on it's properties. I know others have gotten away with it but I really want you to dig deeper. Go one further then those who have come before. Step up and raise the bar with me. Just one connection between you and the actual substance, that's all I ask. Please.

*approves of the shameless brown-nosing*

I request that those who wish to be added to the table write a breif anecdote comparing yourself(your SW persona) to the element you want. Just click on the wiki link to learn all about it. It's so boring to have a 'just because' answer.

I also request that those who are already on the table but have a 'just because' answer do the same. You know who you are. *Stares at MM*

What? This thread hasn't died yet? How am I supposed to get away with not updating the list anymore if this thread doesn't die?

And for all present, it is clearly stated in the Code of Community "#25 "FYT" means Fixed Your Typo, but you're not really supposed to fix peoples typo's with it. Just put words in their mouth."

I don't understnad how people can reply to the topic about the Code of Community without actually taking the time to read it. I mean, it is covered in rule #22.

*Is amazed at the appropriateness of that number.*

Ok, shorter list... but I like the rules that show the culture of our community (ie. Alo with his sniper rifle) so it'll probably be more then 20 long.

Very much appreciated and I like your wording but my intention is to include #55, #100, and #101 while getting rid of unneccesary junk. I need more good rules to fill in the gaps instead of condensing the good ones we already have. I don't know if I can make it. I weeded out about a quarter of them already.

By no means was your absence the longest, and there are many other absences to which the rule has not yet rung true, (See all the one post wonders?) but you were obviously missed.

Of course it does. I wrote it in the first place.

Rule #2 would be so much easier if it like, didn't exsist and stuff.

Most of it's still applicable. It's just that TM violated rule #33. Thus 'twas was his peril. It should probably be higher on the list.

Well, there is the official Code of Conduct and then there is the Code of Community which I am looking up in the archive now... This will only take a minute I'm sure.

What the? What's with this 'I won't be buggered to search for a term with less then four letters' bit? How am I supposed to search for CoC? Ok, fine... I think I remeber a unique phrase I wrote in that thread...

*In Spongebob narator's voice* One hour later.

No I'm kidding. But why do the posts only allow up to 30 characters per line? Hard to read. Fixable, Aran?

Anyway, here it is.

I vote for number one. No surprise there, I'd wager. I'd tell you you're wasting your breath on this bunch,(because we've mostly all 'been there, done that, I ain't budging' before) but I guess you never know. God does work in mysterious ways.

quote:
Originally written by Lt. Sullust:

True, the versions of the Bible seem to be multiplying like rabbits but there are the original manuscripts to look at, though, if one is so inclined.

I don't feel like pulling out the same old statistics again but I do feel like rambling so I will paraphrase.

There have been comparisons between the manuscripts with which the Book of Isaiah was translated into the KJV and with the Dead Sea Scrolls copy which dates hundreds of years earlier and there was found to be only a miniscule difference (like 1% or something close). Most of it was simple spelling errors and word switches i.e. God Almighty for Almighty God. Nothing that would have changed the meaning of a single verse.

So although we don't have all the books of the Bible in the Dead Sea Scrolls, we can be reasonably sure that the manuscripts we do have are reliably accurate to the originals. And when I use the terms reasonable and reliable I am using them scientificly. Any ancient manuscript scholar(who didn't flunk his classes)could tell you that the Bible is more reliable then any other translated ancient manuscript there is. Mainly because there are so many ancient copies of it to compare./end ramble

Show of hands. How many of you just skipped to the bottom?

@Aran - How's this?
IMAGE(http://www.geocities.com/tracihedlund/MyGraphics/DSCF4432.gif)

Between a quarter to a fifty-cent piece. If they get much riper, their skin splits and they fall off the tree. The insides are definately squishy and the skin is smooth.

That Japanese plum looks almost perfect. Serrated leaf and color, but it's so big. I think I'll call it a Japanese cherry plum. Well, now that I know (sort of) what I'm dealing with time to make some jam!

Thanks for the help...

I have at least three other types of berries in the yard. I wonder if any of those are edible, too.

I was wondering if someone could tell me with certainty what type of fruit tree I have in my back yard. I've done a search of the web and the closest thing I could find was a mirabella plum. Yet in the few pictures I could find as labeled mirabella the leaves had smooth edges.

It smells sweet and has a pit like a plum.

Further research was stinted because there is very little about the mirabella plum on the web. There isn't even a wiki page. Any help would be much appreciated.

The fruits are pretty close to actual size in this photo.
