Vote for the lizard! If you don't vote for a lizard, the wrong lizard might get in! Unfortunately, Polaris and Desperance agree on one thing - Spiderweb is a lesser place. And yet, the popular candidates were all either Despers or Polarans. The lizards rule the people. Posts: 13 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

I think it's natural to think about suicide at least once or twice during puberty; if you never did, you must have been having an extremely easy childhood and adolescence. People consider suicide either when they see no future for their life (after failing in some important test, for example), or as an accusation - along the lines of "This is your fault, you made me kill myself by treating me so badly!" I have thought about it several times, but never seriously (and never because of serious problems). But I can imagine extreme situations in which I would strongly consider to end my life. It sounds unbelievable, but it's true. Posts: 13 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

I think UBB might do it automatically, but the last thread visible to me was posted on May 1st 2003. I am pretty sure there were threads posted before then... [ Saturday, February 21, 2004 01:18: Message edited by: T3h Invisible n00b ] Posts: 13 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

If it is made open source, I don't see how the source code would be distributed with the demo version without defeating the concept of shareware by making it possible to edit out the barrier. However, of course, the demo version could be a separate program that cannot be transformed into the full version at all. Posts: 13 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

I think it would be cool to abolish Mage Lore and just show all the runes and languages as the party would see them. It'll never happen, of course, but it'd rock to have to learn the stuff for yourself... :D Posts: 13 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

People with multiple accounts have a tendency to get five stars very early on in their career as a member. Not in my case of course. And the member counter is currently lagging 8 behind. I'm pretty sure almost all people actively trying for 4k were familiar with that, but did not say anything to not give away the secret to other competitors. On the other hand, to "return fire" is in most cases what one should not do. Leaving is not a a good approach to flame fests, but nor is flaming back. I think I see the problem: MSW, you have good writing skills, but there are additional skills needed for RPing well — mainly in the area of communication and teamwork (possessed by few on these boards). I am certain that acquiring and honing those skills is a matter of practice and receiving constructive criticism. This board sports a diversity of members, a few of whom will be glad to offer advice, many more of whom will be glad to flame you to smithereens for making mistakes. I think that you would get a better proportion of constructive advice at Polaris, because there is a more quiet atmosphere with less members. With less of a compulsion to haste the RP along, there is less time pressure and more opportunity to learn. You could visit the board some day to see what I mean. I second Logo's suggestion. Procrastinator, imo you'd fit very well into Polaris, and it's easier to practice good RPing on a smaller board with members who are more... shall we say... mature. Posts: 13 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

The funny thing is, I noticed that the number of registered members is lower than the highest member number. I'm currently the newest member, and you can see that my number is 3936, while the number of registered members is 3928. Any explanation for that?
