No, it's not possible to get through the barriers. Well, it's not supposed to be. With luck, ingenuity, and cheating you can manage it, but all you get for your troubles is an exit through the back that leaves you permanently stuck in a wall. —Alorael, who regards the crypt just as a nice bit of foreshadowing for A2. French Guiana is non-European French and it's more definitely part of France than New Caledonia. Incidentally, as an undeniable part of France proper with representatives in the government and everything, it is responsible for the European Union extending outside of anything that could reasonably be called Europe. —Alorael, who has heard that Spidwebbers are uniformly insufferable. He has yet to see anything that dispels this potential myth. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

1. Aran, but only to get my code debugged and/or debug his code. 2. Tim. Or The Cult of RW. Or the secret cabal that—ahem. Never mind. 3. Spam has been irking me for half a decade now. I'm not so sure it's actually worse than in the past, although the PPP could prove or disprove that. My personal belief is that hindsight has good spam filters. 4. A5. 5. Good question. I suppose because it's hard to meet people while holed up in a sniper's roost in Alaska. 6. Polaris, although I'm more of a sporadic poster. 7. I plead conflict of interests. 8. USA, English. —Alorael, who wishes there were a better way to distinguish all the national dialects of English. Also it might be nice to distinguish English from Internetglish. If those are reliable IQ tests, then you have an IQ around 100 and a fair degree of certainty about it for whatever it's worth. If those were online tests, which is what I'd expect from your having taken four, they mean approximately nothing. —Alorael, whose IQ of 97 always makes him feel like a bit of an outsider and a lesser being. Why must he be so inadequately intellectually endowed? Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

My personal witnesses of impressive self-cramming seen a rather large man fit himself into a dryer to prove he could, a boy of around 2 manage to squeeze himself between the vertical bars in a railing, and, my personal favorite, a different boy around age 3 decide to sit in the refrigerator and do so. I'm not particularly interested in putting myself into a box. I need my space. —Alorael, who doesn't know what the smallest space he's ever been in was. It was probably non-Euclidean, though. The word is vahnatai, and they're a race from the Avernum series. From your name I take it you've played mostly Geneforge and never run into them. —Alorael, who apologizes for ignoring the topic title. Okay, that's 3/3. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I need at least seven hours to be fully functional the next day, but I rarely get that much. Insomnia and overactive thoughts keep me awake in bed far too long, and knowing this I often find myself sitting and reading, posting here, or otherwise spending time that I should be sleeping in other activities. —Alorael, who would say that he probably does get seven hours on average, but it's an average mostly of getting six hours or so and then being tired enough the next day to fall sleep easily and get a good 7-8 hours. It sounds like Aran is actually asking for something like each element of a scenario to be rated, possibly 1-10. Your rubric would work fine, but only if the breakdown of scoring were shown along with the total. —Alorael, who agrees that it might be nice to separate elements. Technical achievements probably mean more within the Blades community than to casual players (who are how numerous...?). Plot is almost always important, though. And how about the septuagenarian eskimos who love mindless combat? Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I'll assume you've already worked on blocks on inclined planes and pulley systems. Friction just adds another force opposite the direction of motion equal to the coefficient of friction multiplied by the normal force, as Thuryl says. It's just one more term on your force diagram. —Alorael, who will work through all the numbers if it's necessary and if that isn't cheating. quote:That's absurd. When I get frustrated and have to shoot wheels I do it from hundreds of meters away. You don't see me peppered with debris, and who's ever heard of buckshot from a sniper rifle? —Alorael, who thinks rednecks may be an American phenomenon. Other countries can have their equivalents, but they're not exactly rednecks. The drawl is important to the image. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |
