In the near future I will likely upgrade from MacOS 10.2.8 to 10.3.2. I wonder if Nethergate works fine with Panther? (what about the other Spiderweb Classic games?) thanks Abraxx PS I did ask this question long time ago, but didn't get a satisfying answer, maybe now that more people use Panther it's a better time :) -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

Hi, because Mac OS 10.3 is coming soon, I wonder if anyone tested the following games regarding compatibility: Nethergate Avernum 1 Avernum 2 Avernum 3 Geneforge 1 Geneforge 2 There is already a beta outside so maybe someone could have tested already :) thanks Abraxx -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

I'm pleased with what I saw until now and I'm sure this game will be on my ordering list to complete the Avernum series. And I'm also pleased that Jeff makes these games available to the Mac community anyway, I don't care if I have to wait, even if he would release the Windows version before. Mac Users are used to this, but are "indemnified" by the coding and usability advantages of the Mac :D By interpreting the logos of the editor buttons, it looks really powerful to me... I hope that many players have time to design many adventures for BoA, I won't have much more time then for a short scenario....only for playing  my 2 cents Abraxx -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

At least at the front page you should take the time and write Blades of Avernum instead of BoA  Then lets look about the content when the game comes out, I don't care about any fancy graphix as long as the content rocks :) -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

I like that your stats are not only shown with a bar but also in numbers. I'm only missing a quest log. I just wondered if instead of dropping something I can put the item back into a desk or similar...I think it showed a letter when I was standing beside... Anyway, there are a few neet ideas where I don't understand why they were dropped for the following Avernum games :( rgds Abraxx -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

You won't find any emulators for MacOS on Windows. They simply don't exist. Any even if in some years something pops up, it won't be very fast.... Better consider switching ;) We have a Virtual PC....and it works fine for DOS games and even Win95/98, except for 3D games... :) rgds Abraxx -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

Well Sir David, exactly like my wife. She started playing G1, A1, A2 and now the G2 Demo. But didn't play anything to the end, half way down the road she starts the next one....nevertheless she has fun... Luckily shes not that way in real life :D Hm did Jeff ever considered to implement multiplayer after the Geneforge series? I then could aid her through :) cheers Abraxx -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

Downloaded Nethergate Demo today (don't know why I didn't played it before?!) and I really must agree, it does have a nice atmosphere, maybe even better then Avernum and Geneforge, well, I will see, I just ordered it together with Geneforge2 and all the Hintbooks  And yes, though the graphics are more or less the same, it looks as if here and there more detail was spend to it, when designing the towns&landscape etc Or maybe it's just the different plot? Don't know :) I think after the Geneforge Series I would like to see something similar to the Avernum/Nethergate engine again, with a character editor and maybe a world like the good ol' times of D&D or Midgard.... oh yes...getting nostalgic.... cheers Abraxx [ Sunday, July 27, 2003 07:08: Message edited by: Abraxx ] -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

I would like to see: - axes and mazes (yes this is plural!) and more different grafics for the weapons anyway - much more spells (without removing others, I would really miss movemountain, Capture Soul and Simulacrum); spells like; really invisible, teleporting, cloud-spells, control undead over a longer period, etc - spells which seem useless NOT removed but made more effective (like terror and summoning) - create scrolls in the same way like potions (without "maschines"), though this might be more difficult (nice would be one-time teleporting scrolls :) - more carrying slots, not just the annoying 20 being able to add an item (like arrow) to existing ones already carried even though no slot is empty anymore but carrying weight is not exceeded, this was/is really annoying - possibility to wear at least 2 rings and 2 bracers at once! - belts - more grafically diversified tiles - better barter possibilities/variations - maybe some more traits to choose from :) (positive and negative) - better overview of total armor and resitances - different levels of "angryness" of a city or just penalty payments for theft and things (though I hope this might be done via scripting) - I always missed dwarfs in Avernum :) - keep horses of A3 - keep flying possibility (maybe a trained little dragon instead of an orb?) *g* Can't think of more at the moment, but these things really would be fine. hm yes, better not remove anything, just add or make more effective. :) thanks Abraxx [ Thursday, June 19, 2003 01:42: Message edited by: Abraxx ] -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

Hi, I wonder if the scenarios which came with BoE will also be used for BoA? If so, can someone describe the story of them, is it around the trilogy? (please do not spoil) thanks Abraxx [ Thursday, June 19, 2003 00:35: Message edited by: Abraxx ] -------------------- * Knowledge is Might * Posts: 130 | Registered: Monday, April 21 2003 07:00 |

Could I take my party from scenario to scenario or do I have to start each scenario with a new "novice" party? (thus making it possible to play scenarios in a campaign like form :) ) thanks Abraxx PS no, I haven't played Blades of Exile...
