How long & how good is the demo? I don't have a mac, so I have to wait:(. On a scale of 1-10, what is it? Posts: 49 | Registered: Friday, February 18 2005 08:00 |

The demo is pretty long (one fifth of the entire game), and pretty good. -------------------- "..The seventh wave of Thrall stumbled and climbed over the slippery, piled dead and Mazzarin saw The Watcher with them and at last knew the number of his days." In the full game, too. It's all underground. The demo seemed kind of short to me. The rest of the game is probably a little better than the demo. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. dammit, i was looking forward to seeing the surface. But meh, I'll just wait till I buy the game, as well as the whole of the Geneforge & Avernum series, only played the demos so far How is it only underground? Were the Avernum citizens beaten in a war on the surface? or did they decide not to go to the surface at the end of A3? quote:Then play A3 again, or load up BoA. The Avernites have begun moving to the surface (and Empire citizens have moved to Avernum freely), but that's just not where the action is. The plot is in Avernum, and the Avernites been kind of cut off from the surface momentarily (if you play through, you'll see why). -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." I'm not sure what measurement was used to declare the demo 1/5 of the game. It's possible by outdoor sections, although I still doubt it. It's definitely not at all true by time spent doing stuff. The demo is the least exciting part of the game. —Alorael, who can say more specifically that Avernum does have its space on the surface, and that a few non-Avernites are in Avernum for the short-term. What insider knowledge of A5's setting do you have? So far 3 out of 4 Avernum have involved no surface. —Alorael, who refers to himself in whatever person he pleases. Be glad it isn't the second person. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I thought it was a pretty fair bet, given how the spoiler plotline ended. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Kelandon-the link leads to a "My Web Search", is that what it's supposed to do? Dear Alorael- first of all, why do you alwayse refer to yourself in the third person? Second, By what I've heard about the storyline, there will obviously be surface access. Hell, for all we know, there could be 2-3 different storylines for how you play it, or you could choose to start on the surface, or belowground, or whatever. lol, have you ever heard of bluffing? Those are a couple of things that I hope will be in the game, and yes, I know it was a stupid thing to say. Posts: 49 | Registered: Friday, February 18 2005 08:00 |

The demo is... Terse. My first reaction was, "dang, this is short." But the demo isn't the whole game! Alas. The whole game is basically going on quests to meet the levelup mandates of the rest of the game. So okay, it's long... But man, at what price? -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

quote:Dikiyoba wishes Dikiyoba would have come up with a smart reply like that when people where asking Dikiyoba about speaking in third person. But then, when three or four people in different posts start wondering why Dikiyoba speaks in third person (as opposed to one person multiple times), it's mighty unsettling. Especially since at that time, nobody was asking Alorael why Alorael spoke in third person. Hmm...let's get someone to talk in eleventh person. What would that look like? Edit: Grammer. Aloreal isn't anybody. I spell my moniker of choice with the E as the last vowel. I'm also not quite sure what I think about being female, male, and neuter in one post. —Alorael, who is male except in certain vicious rumors once spread by a Spidwebber now absent.
