Clearly, Alorael is a he. But Aloreal is a he/she/it. Alorael, did you know you have an evil twin? -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

The difference is that Alorael has a dipthong, and the other has only a normal one. -------------------- We're not doing cool. We're doing pretty. Posts: 3335 | Registered: Thursday, September 4 2003 07:00 |

It's a phonetic term; two vowels that don't form a single sound but rather glide from one sound to another. ow is one of these, as is ay. But I'm curious; what did you think it meant? ^___^ -------------------- Encyclopaedia • Archives • Members • RSS [Topic / Forum] • Blog • Polaris • NaNoWriMo Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair. This is an amusing dicussion that makes Dikiyoba laugh. Edit: Alorael's next name should relate to this discussion. [ Thursday, January 05, 2006 15:34: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

I didn't catch it in time, but perhaps. —Alorael, who is not convinced that the ae is a dipthong. As Brits can assure you, ae frequently makes a long E sound, so his name could be spelled Aloreel (although according to the Americanizatino of said British words he'd be Alorel instead). Or it could be an Old English ash, æ, which would make the syllable that lovely, unique nasal A found frequently in the prefix mal-. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Alorael is the person who posted right before you, the one who signed his post "Alorael." Since I apparently made him laugh, I'm going to give myself the benefit of the doubt and interpret Archangel as saying that he knows who I am but doesn't know me. Otherwise he's laughing at me, not with me, and I have to be sad. —Alorael, who doesn't want to be sad. His gender confusion is trouble enough, really.
