Has anyone ever tried creating an AU-Avernum senerio where some of the Drakons and their creations from the Geneforge games started appearing and, after mistaking the mages and priests for Shapers, started trying to take over the place? Obviously, the PCs won't be able to shape anything themselves, but they could have other tricks up their sleeves due to the reality warp.

I've been trying to create one like that for a while now, but...my graphing skills reek severely...

See this thread for a discussion of Geneforge in BoA possibilities. No one has released a scenario doing this, but we've given a crossover some thought.

Um, but that particular plot sounds as though it lacks promise.

That 'plot' was off the top-of-my-head, I know it sounds promiseless.

However...I will definately be peaking into that thread, Kelandon. I thank thee for thy response.

Actually, the vanatai are supposivly the shapers.
The Avernum games are farther in time then the Geneforge games.
Also, probably the reason why the Empire kills magical creatures is because they in the past attacked the creations that evolved to the creatures of the Avernum time.(gazers/eyebeasts being the only exception)
I have other guesses.

I proposed a new form of Vahnatai Creationism a while back, except that everything in Ermarian was descended from the shapers, and that the Vahnatai was all that was left of the long forgotten Shaper empire. I also noted out several similarities between creatures in Avernum, and creatures in Geneforge. It went over like a lead balloon, but I still believe it to be a possibility.

I tried to think of something witty to put here.

Needless to say, I failed.

How do Vahnatai have anything to do with shapers? Shapers actually make creatures, unlike vahnatai that store a monster's soul and make a copy of it. Also their magics are different; shapers use essence to create creatures that remain with the creator until death, on the other hand, vahnatai use crystals and their simulacrums only exsist in combat.

Well, both are strange and otherworldly, and certain magic-using vahnatai have been called "shapers" since before there was such a thing as Geneforge.

On the other hand, Jeff has stated pretty emphatically that the two worlds are different, unless I am grievously mistaken.

The two worlds are indeed different, according to cannon. However, I suspect that Mr. Vogel liked the word 'shaper' a little too much in using it, no?

When one has a cannon, one can create whatever canon one deems fit. :D

Shaper is a really good word, though. It beats everyone just being a run-of-the-mill mage or wizard. If the vahnatai had just been wizards and soldiers instead of Shapers, Keepers, and Blades, then I'm not sure I would've liked them as much.

I think that is possible to shape in BoA,there is a way for the PC and other for the NPC.
For the PC create a special ability that let the party to create a new member than you can dismiss or abandon in certain point.Sounds easy but it must be VERY HARD TO DO and is only a raw idea.
For the NPC only you have to create a script like ``spawner´´,but you have to make that it summons only one per turn.
That is my theory;I'm a novice programmer and I have a regular english because i'm latin so try it and let me know if work.

As far as I could understand, those ideas aren't scriptable. GF-style creation in BoA has been discussed here, starting about halfway down the page. The conclusion was that it's possible, though somewhat inelegant.

A BoA Geneforge scenario would be boring anyway. A BoE Geneforge scenario might actually be fun.

What exactly were you looking for if not constructive criticism of your theory? I don't see the above two posters being anything but polite to you; yelling at them is uncalled for.

Yes,I understand because that I started my scenario using borrowed scripts from other scenarios, remaking them and making some trial and error to make the things work and now i close to finish it.

Be sure to have it beta-tested. No matter how many of the bugs you think you've gotten, someone else will always find more.

Yay! Another designer!

Maybe, with the recent up-turn in Blades activity, we can maybe twist Jeff's arm and get a few bug fixes?

Well,my bugs are just writing problems,so they are easily fixed the real trouble is how I can find them. The BoA only say:Missing semicolon in line 216.I EVER have to go 1,2,3,4... and when I reach to the problem sometimes is not there. That makes VERY HARD to fix them all
