During my last playthrough which I finished yesterday, I encountered a forest filled with gremlins and gorgons in eastern Karnold province. If you beat these, you get to some patches of so-called "savory herbs". They don't appear to be used in any potion, and I can't find anyone who wants them. What are they there for? -------------------- OH MY GOD IT'S THE FUNKY ****!!! Posts: 425 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

There's a courier quest (not a job dispatch) between Lennus/Squiggus and Storm port. I think, once you agree to the job, Storm port will accept Savory Herbs. -------------------- Hz'ii'zt a'iiencf coxnen a'bn'z'p pahuen yzpa'zuhb be'tt'phukh'kn az'ii'ova mxn't bhcizvi'fl? Oh! I know that quest, but never bothered accepting it. I guess I don't like the idea of my own custom-made heroes should run petty courier routes. That explains everything, thanks! -------------------- OH MY GOD IT'S THE FUNKY ****!!! Posts: 425 | Registered: Wednesday, January 28 2004 08:00 |

It allowed you to increase your profit since you wouldn't have to pay for buying them. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

That courier route was the way I made most of my money in Exile 3... I was peeved when they limited it in Avernum. But really, it's for the best. It's still a great way to make a bit of cash. Posts: 29 | Registered: Saturday, May 26 2007 07:00 |

What I miss in A3 is being able to reset the job listings, which is how I make most of my money early in the game. And I also miss how I used to make a ton of money in Lorelei by buying cheap potion ingredients and then selling the potions I made for a good size profit. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. In E3 the courier route was the only option for purchasing spells like Quickfire and Shockwave. I'd also use the money to outfit my whole party in mithril armor, and buy my spell casters Micah's gloves. In A3 I purchased Hawkes Manse with the courier money. However, A3 has a lot of good loot, so you have it made either way. -------------------- Decca Records - "We don't like their sound. Groups of guitars are on the way out." quote:I still prefer the Lorelei potion method in E3 to do the same. I admit it's a bit tedious, but it's just as effective nonetheless. I was able to get all the money I wished by buying herbs at the nephil village (very cheap), making potions and selling them in Stormport. Then I bought mandrake root from the hermit on the isles and made as many skill potion as I could. In fact it was too easy... Posts: 70 | Registered: Thursday, February 16 2006 08:00 |

It's quicker to do that in Lorelei, because you can buy ingredients and sell the potions right there in town. The only thing is that in Lorelei, you need some Anama rings to get the very cheap herbs. And if the game is too easy for you, just change the preferences to make it harder. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts.
