Mmmmh...For the cheats, use the Character Editor, and for the tips, look at the forum :) ! -------------------- "Il est interdit de se battre sur le Champ du Massacre; dit-il avant de marquer une pause, le temps de reflechir a la logique de ses propos." I don't think you need to cheat, the tips in the forum are enough to get rid of all nasty situations...But sometimes, I do stupids things, like saving my game at the bad moment, and the Character Editor may be usefull.I've use it also to make some "theme party" :D . -------------------- "Il est interdit de se battre sur le Champ du Massacre; dit-il avant de marquer une pause, le temps de reflechir a la logique de ses propos." The only time you really need to cheat is if youre trying to do something the game doesnt want you to do (IE kill Rentar in E/A3, which takes alot of restoring mana). Otherwise, if you play the game through and do all the sidequests you shouldnt have any real problems. Posts: 22 | Registered: Tuesday, July 8 2003 07:00 |

These work for BOE I'm not sure if the work in BOA though, it won't hurt to try. During gameplay type ">", "(", ")", "&" or "*". ">" Refreshes towns. All that you have done in a town is forgotten. Leave your current town to have it take effect. "(", ")", "&", "*", gives you a pointless, secret message. -------------------- I am the way into the doleful city I am the way into eternal grief, I am the way to a foresaken race. Justice it was that moved my great creator; Divine omnipotence created me, And highest wisdom joined with primal love. You can turn on debug mode...if it actually works. ¬_¬ -------------------- Austrian Alex Posts: 1307 | Registered: Tuesday, May 7 2002 07:00 |

How do you use this debug mode, what's it for, and how do you turn it on? 'Cause I don't understand. -------------------- I, Grah-Hoth, will rule both in Avernum and on the surface. Posts: 30 | Registered: Friday, April 23 2004 07:00 |

Debug mode currently does not work, or at least most of us can't get it to work anyways... You can supposedly turn on debug mode by putting in an additional line in your script {turn_on_deug_mode} or something of that nature. Read the editor appendices for more info. -------------------- ♫ The truth is screaming BIG ♫ ♫ A light so bright ♫ ♫ Whether day or night ♫ ♫ It can't be hid ♫ § realitycorp@gmail.com § ►► Chance is back online! ◄◄ Posts: 245 | Registered: Tuesday, February 17 2004 08:00 |

The character editor should suffice for all of your cheating needs. It does for mine! ^_^ -------------------- Dragyn Bob "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!"-The Divine Comedy Posts: 1481 | Registered: Thursday, September 27 2001 07:00 |

Yes, but just watch out when using it...editing your skills too high without adding experience and level to the party first will make some of your skills/resistances reset to 0 when playing the game. Yet another bug that needs to be fixed.

ACtually, that's got to be a feature; Jeff probably put that in on purpose. At enough urging he may remove it, but good luck trying. -------------------- There are two kinds of game players...those who are newbies, and those who were. Posts: 322 | Registered: Monday, April 12 2004 07:00 |

If its a feature, I feel its a bad one. Why not just limit the skills/resistances to a certain level, or reduce them to something more appropriate then zero. and yes, I'm aware you can pretty much only have this happen if you use the character editor, but then why include the ability to max out the skills if the game just reduces them to zero? If its an anti-cheating feature, why not either a) document it or b) allow it to be disabled? I don't like being told that I can't cheat in a game because thats like me telling other people not to use mage/priest spells, you shouldn't tell a person how to play a game. Mostly, I'm just curious if anyone has heard from Spiderweb about this little quirk in the game? Posts: 37 | Registered: Sunday, June 13 2004 07:00 |
