Where is the marble statue in Zaskiva? Any help would be appreciated. (I'm in the second scenario, about the rebellion, and obviously, I'm a rebel hoping to complete a mission.)

First, go to the smithy, and talk to the smith. Ask him about his friends, and he'll tell you about Kenny. Talk to him about the statues, and then, go to that locked door with the guard near it just east of the palace. Tell him you want to see the statues. Enter, then go to the statue in the NW corner. Then enjoy the show.

It's in the room guarded by Kenny. The spot to put it is actually behind one of the large statues, up against Lord Volpe's palace.

Edit: Nioca got in first.

You think A Small Rebellion is hard? Wait until you try a TM scenario. Those will push your adventuring skills to the limit.

I'd be surprised if not, given the profile names associated with this user.

Pythras - Be sure to get the High Level Party Maker from Kelandon's website. It will allow you to quickly set up for any of the available adventures without having to level up by trudging through more scenarios. You can also use it to customize a party to try out specific combat techniques, or character builds, and use them against some of the stranger creature types. Good luck!

It surprises me a little bit to hear you tell someone to to play all of them. Even UV? *raise eyebrow*

Then again, I suppose it is a very good example of what NOT to do in a scenario.

Don't be so hasty. PG is an excellent adaptation of Wizardry, and I'm sure Slack had a good time tricking out BoA to accomplish it. PG was not meant to be a great stand-alone scenario, which is how I think some people are perceiving it.

Precisely. Negative examples can often be the best ones.

Yes, but Undead Valley was what taught me that undead are usually a bad thing. Therefore, it served a purpose.

Undead are always a bad thing. They loot farms, destroy cities, obliterate merchant caravans... :D

Really, any enemy type can be a dud. Likewise, the same enemy type can be the most amazing thing you've ever fought. It all boils down to how it's carried out by the designer.

Yeah, but undead are probably the most cliched plague.

Yeah, but undead are probably the most cliched plague.

So are goblins, demons, dragons, centaurs, alien beings, etcetera, etcetera... If no designer used these, we would have a lot less scenarios out there. Both good and bad. Also, they wouldn't be cliché if no one used them. Instead, it would be the 'more original' monsters that would be cliché.

Undead are generally poor because they are mindless monsters that exist merely to be re-killed by the adventurer. They don't need motivation to fight, so long as there is a pissed off necromancer(or demon, or vampire, or anybody else it seems) that has a bone to pick with a nearby town then undead are bound to be present. The other monsters you mentioned can have motivations and can be well developed. Did the villain trick the goblins into fighting? Are the centaurs ticked off because of a cultural misunderstanding? Who knows, but its pretty safe to say that if undead are being used then they are just being summoned by behind the scenes villain. Sure they can be good, the most cliched monster can be good and the most original can suck, it just often turns out that udnead are on the sucky end.

Undead would be much cooler if they were (A) rare, (B) seriously dangerous, when encountered, and (C) typically found singly or in duos perhaps. I would like a chill of terror to creep down my spine when I bump into an undead...being something particularly deadly and hard to kill, or maybe likely to induce terror or confusion even in experienced adventurers.

Maybe only physical damage should have the power to destroy the skeletal ones. . You'd have to break them apart with a sword. Perhaps only priest spells could dispel ghostly and wraithy ones.

-S- is for Spooks, Spectres, and Skeletons (oh my.)

I've given a lot of thought to the problem of undead, really... I might try and put some in the next scenario I release.

Really, there needs to be more flavor to them. You can't just have eight skeletons appear and expect the party to be frightened. However, if you describe exactly how their limbs, clawing up through the ground around you, wave around with a mindless anger, then you're getting somewhere.

Oh, and if you can make them do cool things via scripting, then all the better.
