Edit: I now have both the windows and mac versions on my site. Anyways, you can download the scenario here. Hope you have fun. I will send the scenario to Spiderweb as well so it should appear on their tables in, oh four to six months. Unless someone prods them about it. Prod. And, from the blurb alone this looks to be my favourite scenario ever. -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? Where do you go? Who do you need to know? *Name by Slarty Posts: 2864 | Registered: Monday, September 8 2003 07:00 |

Bug - The grotto dialog involving the undead gentleman is forced, even when in combat mode. This causes unfortunate things to happen when the offer to "join" is tendered. Forcing combat to end prior to beginning the conversation, aside from being a more gentile form of communication, would stop that problem. Intended or not, the "knock, knock" door on the mansion effectively locks you into the house during unfortunate circumstances. It would seem to make more sense that in my haste to leave I would just knife the butler and run. But that's just my natural inclination in any circumstance. Also, it would be nice to use a dead_state inc(x,y,1) on the folks within the mansion to indicate that violence was afoot. I raised an alarm while leaving and didn't get caught, but was chastised by my employer. Aside from all that, I liked it. Still haven't managed to milk a cow, but that's just fine. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Smoo, I made a copy of RA with a cmg file and sent it to you. It's compressed as a sit file. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Posts: 627 | Registered: Monday, March 7 2005 08:00 |

Is milking a cow new? I don't remember anything like that in the beta. -------------------- IF I EVER BECOME AN EVIL OVERLORD: All giant serpents acting as guardians in underground lakes will be fitted with sports goggles to prevent eye injuries. You don't have to milk a cow if you blow up Horatio. Fresh milk is one of the ingredients for his spell, remember? Thanks to Niemand Rats Aplenty is now available for the lazy Mac user who doesn't want to convert the graphics himself. I'll fix those things Salmon mentioned. A little later. -------------------- These are my scenarios. I may have too much free time but I really don't care. Furthermore... Sneak, it seems, is the bane of my existance. This time he decided to recruit some pals to break my kneecaps while I was prepping for my rat killing spree. Not being prepared, I fleed the cave area. To my surprise, when I returned to the cave, prepared and itching for a fight, he and his merry men were gone. Never to be seen again. While I prefer to think that they came to their collective senses and decided a life of crime was not for them, it is more likely that this is a bug. :( -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I have fixed the bugs Salmon mentioned and have uploaded a new version on my website. Also regarding that bug about the missing Sneak: I briefly considered making a cutscene about how Sneak and his men DID come to their collective senses and abandoned their life of crime. But I got lazy. Maybe I'll add that later. -------------------- These are my scenarios. I may have too much free time but I really don't care. Since I am the self-appointed bearer of bugs, I've got my favorite all lined up for you. You know in the manor, when you open a certain door you get warned about guards sleeping or playing cards and not seeing you? And how most sane players will back out of the room and close the door? If you don't do that the guards attack. Even the sleeping ones. Please change the graphics so that sleeping guards don't attack me. It makes me want to hurt people. :P -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I am enjoying Rats Aplenty, but I'm stuck at one particular point. In the Lost City, I have accumulated the 4 ancient items, but I cannot seem to place them in the spots near the statues that will cause the gates to open. In Smoo's walkthrough, he says "...place the ancient items by the correct statues (guess I just don't want to look which goes where right now. The sword goes next to the helmet I think)..... I need more help than that. Has anybody figured out the correct sequence? Thanks :) Posts: 20 | Registered: Friday, July 25 2003 07:00 |

I don't know the exact sequence, but how I figured it out is by placing a certain item in front of a statue. Press the wait button once, and see if a gate opens. If it doesn't, place the item in front of a different statue. You just do this for all four items. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. :) Thanks Nioka, That did the trick. I was thinking that you had to drop all four items at once and THEN something would happen. It was much easier to do it one at a time. Posts: 20 | Registered: Friday, July 25 2003 07:00 |

I think I played the long way around for everything. Two questions. Is it possible to find Rosemary? The dialogue at the battlement lent to the suspiciousion that she should be in or near the Haunted Hills. I never found her there or anywhere else. quote:Please do spoil. I'm done with the whole scenario and every sidequest except this one. I've looked in every nook and cranny I could get into. You have to go through multiple outdoor encounters in many different locations. I don't know where, though, as I've never completed it myself. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. Posts: 2686 | Registered: Friday, September 8 2006 07:00 |

There's at least three, maybe four, outdoor encounters, the second of which is on the bones at the edge of the swamp. For the rest, just wander around any groups of boulders in the Haunted Hills. If you still can't find it, well, just open up the scenario editor and search the outdoors for blue rectangles. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

This would be so much easier with a flat world to work with. :P -------------------- "Even the worst Terror from Hell can be transformed to a testimony from Heaven!" - Rev. Sorry to revive a long dead post, but I have a few questions. First of all, what is the shiny object the talking rat in the lost city wants. Second, how do you break into the Mansion? 1) The shiny object is the special item you get when you walk to the pile of rubble near the chitrachs in the rat caverns (Under lost city). 2) There's a secret passage in the wall near the garden shed. You can only find it if you've received a quest from Sneak. -------------------- Some of these BoA scenarios might be good: Backwater Calls, Magus of Cattalon, Rats Aplenty, Outpost Valley Get them here Visit The Lyceum for all your rating needs.
