Ooops, I probably mistyped the image URL.

Drakefyre, the "Statue" graphic within your gallery is a picture of a bee monster. I have the feeling it shouldn't be.
Its mean't to be a nephil statue. I have no idea why Drakey put the wrong graphic up.

EDIT: On reading previous posts, my post is pretty pointless, sorry.

Hmmm. The engine catches them as giant because that's in their name. Don't know how to get around this - do we say ONLY graphics that are two sheets are considered as giant? On the other hand a GIFT is a giant compared to a normal sized spider. I think I'll leave this one alone for now.

Just let me know what you want to call your earth-thing.

I see that my Indiana Jones graphic is up, so my zip file must have been received. Just wondering, are my other graphics going up, too?

I'm having problems with your other ones. Could you save them as GIFS and resend?

But good job so far! Keep up the good work!

Somebody give me the official abbr. please. I always thought it was GIFT - short for Giant Intelligent Friendly Talking Spider. If so, I left out the Talking in the name.

GIFT or GIFTS is normal (I think most people use GIFT to avoid the appearance of a plural form.)
You're right, you just ommited the 'talking'.

GIFTS is both the singular and plural form. The ending S makes the singular confusing, but Giant Intelligent Friendly Talking isn't enough information. A talking roach is a GIFT roach, but it isn't a GIFTS.

—Alorael, who supposes that you could say that there is one GIFTS accompanied by a pair of GIFTS's, but that looks odd and probably would only cause more confusion.

And GIFTS's is also gramatically incorrect, but I'm sure you know that.
But, then again, GIFTSs would be even more confusing

Call it an Earth Elemental. I'm currently working on the other elements.
I also have a giant plant monster that changes form. It was inspired by the... Uhh... Darn, I forgot what it's called again. That plant monster that changes form in FF7. Actually, not only is it inspired by it, it's blatantly copying it. I just liked the monster. It's one of my favorites from FF7. I also like Tonberries (they're my favorite monsters, period) But I'm not sure if the name and appearance is copyrighted.
If it's a D&D monster, I'll make a BoA version, but I'll make it look different. It's a little evil fish-man with arms, a knife, a robe, and a lantern.
I'll send you all my BoA graphics you don't already have.

EDIT: Stuff, The Almighty Do-er of? Could you please not do that?
I also recommend you save them as GIFs instead of ART. The image quality is terrible.

You can get away with breaking most copyrights with BoE/BoA. Your scenario probably isn't a commercial product, so nobody is going to accuse you of profiting off of their intellectual property. In fact, chances are nobody will check at all. Make a tonberry and call it a fish-man and everyone is satisfied.

—Alorael, who actually thinks GIFTS's is correct. An abbreviation made plural has an apostrophe. Maybe. But since nobody is sure and it looks very strange, GIFTS is the safest choice.

Uh... Okay, I'll make it. I probably won't use it, unless it's been used in other games before (other than Final Fantasy), but I'll make it if I can.
Brett, what's your e-mail address? I forgot again. Ahkronath told me, but he wasn't sure if you still used it. I sent the images to the address he gave me anyway, though.

If people need to search for your stuff, asking them to type in your entire sig is not so good.

Several others will suffer from the first name last name structure I have set up as well.

Alternatives? Remember, I need to keep the DB as small as possible, so adding another field at this point is a last resort.

ART images? Everything I have so far is a GIF.

Sorry, my graphics programs really suck and won't save .gif files properly. Could I send them and bitmaps instead?

Oh, last time I checked it, it said ART. Whatever.
Anyway, the image quality of my Wind Elemental is still terrible. Maybe I should resend it or something. You may have an old version.
Oh, and my Earth Elemental is showing that red X.

So you are excepting bitmaps, too? Good... I make the files in bmp and then convert them, so I feel .gifs and .jpgs ruin image quality!

And and does anyone know it works to just change the color scheme of wall/floor images to achive a new look? Or do I have to go in and do it pixel by pixel? Newbie question, I know, but I'm lazy and don't have much time to just experiment. I wish I just had this *darned* game!

Depends on your graphics editor. Some will include options for doing that. (Most will at leaast let you produce a negative of the image.) Others don't.

I'll take BMPs ONLY if you have no other way to translate them. Then I have to translate them anyway. There is no reason the JPG format should ruin an image if you set compression to 0%. GIFs can ruin something if you have a 24-bit image to begin with, but (and correct me if I'm wrong here, folks), BoA will probably only render 8-bit images, so designing 24-bit images for use in BoA is not a good idea.

Folks, I'm being swamped with images every day. I may soon just say GIF or JPG or no post. So please learn how to translate stuff on your own ASAP!

Everytime I've used any special software to convert BMPs into GIFs, the conversion ruined the colours. But using Paintbrush and 'Save As' to create a GIF from the very same BMP it works just fine.
Weird.

I think BoA will work with thouisands of colours (whatever that is in bits). I seem to remember Avernum being advertised as that.

On probing around in the graphics file for A3, the graphics are pretty much all 256 colour graphics but they all have different palletes, meaning that overall there are more than 256 colours.

What's probably happening to you Falcatta is that Paintbrush automatically optimises a 256 pallete for your images (by not including any info for bright pink or whatever) before encoding them as gif. Other programs may just give a system 256 colour pallete and dithering, which normally looks awful.
