This is to be a petition to get RWG moved below SubTerra in the page of forums. Each person should post once in this thread, if they are in favor of this change. Eventually we will present this to Drakefyre, and it will serve as a cover story for his co-operation as part of the order's secret plan.

RWG belongs above General. Or at the very least it should become a parent forum of Announcements.

SoT's measure or DB's measure?

Mmm... considering the games that are usually covered by this forum, I do have to vote that an entirely new forum is made, as a sub-forum of Tech Support. One that is entitled "Games that are so evil, we'll call them buggy as a cover story/RSI therapy treatments".

Honestly, though, I think RWG needs more traffic. Setting it to the bottom of the list will only make it worse.

When I saw the phrase "Down with RWG!" I assumed the topic would be a further sad chapter in the hallowed volume of vitriolic ravings of yet another in the long line of those who despise all that is lukewarm and mediocre in this cold, cruel world of ours.

My reply would've been:
"One might as well shout 'Up with the sky!' or 'Down the throat with oatmeal!' In other words, vehemently protesting for things to become as they already are."

But now, having read Student's petition, I am comforted that he means "Down with RWG!" in the most literally geographic sense.

I am of mixed feelings with this. On the one hand:

1. It would make it easier to find. I wouldn't have to look at the bottom of the page, then try to find the thing above that. If it were moved to this proposed new location, all I would have to do is look down at the bottom of the page, saving myself accumulated picoseconds of time from now on and preventing negligible wear and tear on my eye muscles.

2. RWG is truly deserving of being on the bottom, despite my earlier justification that SubTerra belongs below everything else, based on the shaky rationale that it has "Sub" in its name.

3.

(Argument #3 has temporarily escaped my mind.)

And presenting the case against the proposal:

1. Why move RWG down? Why not sideways? Or even inside-out?

2. Then there's the whole "descending weight" issue. What might that be, praytell? Look at it this way: the continents on this world are bulky and wide at the top, narrow at the bottom. RWG is a "bulkier" category since it contains topics for three different games. SubTerra is a single game. Thus, in true continental fashion, we go from bulky to narrow, from North to South. Reversing these two forums would invert the natural order. Have you ever seen South America upside-down? It looks ridiculous. Gravity on the forum should be pulling things down gradually, with little drip-drip-drips tricklings downward, narrower and narrower as it descends. ...Although, if RWG were at the bottom, one could merely consider RWG the "puddle" of moisture and the model would still be viable.

----------

...But, I suppose at the end of the day, when all is said and done, I think RWG would be nice at the bottom of the forums for varied aesthetic and contraindicative reasons. I suppose at the end of the day you could consider this a long-winded "Yea" vote. But not until after 9:00 pm, which would be the "end of the day" here on the West coast.

I oppose this measure.

—Alorael, who isn't picky about which one. He'll oppose them all, including sideways and inside out.

I know that RWG is not that popular, but it does has more posts than Nethergate, SubTerra, and Geneforge. I think that moving RWG down is not going to help at all or change anything for that manner. I love the idea of changing it to another type of board; it is kind of boring.

I propose that rather than moving it in 3-dimensional space we shift it 5 seconds into both the future and the past simultaneously.

I think this is a fantastic idea.

For one thing, then we wouldn't have to go through the time-consuming drudgery of actually posting in RWG, since we will have simultaneously posted and not yet posted already, both of which will be retroactively created and mutually counter-annulled before we do it, respectively.

Faction Paradox would be proud. Not to mention RW Himself.

The perfect state of Zen lies within our grasp.

But if we try to grasp it ... it will vanish like the echo of a butterfly's heartbeat.

Nirvana can wait. First we must sound the depths of Spidweb, by moving to the bottom of the list. Then, when we have exhausted the illusions of mind, we will have a thread entitled 'Om', in which everyone will post 'Om' many times, until we all attain enlightment, or Alorael locks the thread in order to accrue enough negative karma to ensure his reincarnation as a patch of skribbane.

My outplants are of a normal, moderate size as they have a direct satellite connection with the nearest naval base.

I vote to move RWG right above Blades of Avernum. Assuming that's not a valid suggestion, I think we should move it to the area below SubTerra. In other words:

I want to move RWG below SubTera, barring a vote on whether to move RWG above Blades of Avernum, in which case I vote to move RWG to the space that will be created just above BoA.

All this talk of Hakuins and Thufir Hawats reminds me of Jim Trott.
