Smilies:

Vent your feelings.

Do they make you happy? :) Sad? :( Confused? Terrified?

Do you think we should have more, less, ones of higher graphical quality? Do you think they have any practical use? Are they part of the grand plan?

Memo to self:

Graemlins do serve a useful purpose. They can help show the difference serious statements and jokes and sarcasm. That said, they're also often abused like this: :P :) :( :D ;) .

That makes me :o .

I think we need some more. They are useful to show that you are joking about something, like Alorael said. Some of them are just plain ugly, though. This one  , for example, should look nicer. I like the ones that are animated the best.

Smilies/graemlins are just fun, I suppose. They are also like colorful abbreviations to things you don't feel like explaining.

For example: YOU SUCK!! :P is kind of like saying: YOU SUCK! JUST KIDDING!. Of course, some people use graemlins and smilies like that just to cover up flames.

Most of the better smiley's are hidden away. However, if you know where to look you can find them. IMAGE(http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/contrib/ruinkai/peepwallA.gif) IMAGE(http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/contrib/edoom/robot.gif)

THAT WAS FREAKING TERRIFYING.

Uh.... yeah. Anyway, we need more smileys, but... oh well. They're not that important.

Now that is something to relate to. And you know, googling for smileys might not be a bad idea, if you so want to see some.

If it's nice and inappropriate for SW, upload it to your site and link us.

And they say communication is dead.

"This hyperlink to someone who doesn't know me proves I am popular!"

Nothing like a bandwagon.

Except maybe irony.
