Ah, the one magical time of year when rabbits lay eggs. Delicious...

Sadly, I have so much to do today that I might not be able to go have Easter dinner with my family.

And a merry Vernal Equinox to all. We're halfway to the longest day of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere. The sun is shining. Little Cordelia will not be rained upon as she (presumably) forages for eggs. I will be dining on lamb with my friends. My virally-ravaged voice has come back enough to hold at least a stultified conversation.

Yeah, it's a pretty good day, really.

Spiderweb should have a day of resurrecting posts to celebrate!

On second thoughts...

Happy Easter, anyway. :)

I'm wasted here. Wasted in a very sober way.

I'm just a little slow today. Usually I pick up on the joke before I go back and edit.

Every year, he hides exactly three eggs around our property for me to find.
I've found the first two already, inside my box of Basic 4 and underneath the brake pedal in my car...

Actually, the the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes (Equinoces?) when day and night are equal. The longest day of the year is the Summer Solstice. Also, there's the Equinox was a couple weeks ago. :P

Happy Easter to everyone who cares!

I must say that the stuff the Easter Bunny sends me is much less satisfying now that it comes in a little brown package with my parents' address on it instead of a brightly colored bucket or package... and also when it contains socks instead of candy.

Something tells Dikiyoba that those aren't boiled eggs, either.

Hence the "halfway to" rather than "already there."

I read that as "halfway through" for some reason, but my second point stands.

Ah, Easter.

We hosted 20, searched for 200 plastic eggs around the yard, and coddled 2 sick boys with the flu all while feeling a bit queazy myself.

A joyful time to all indeed.

I'm the least religious person in my family yet somehow I got stuck coloring the hard boiled eggs. I painted stars of David on all of them. They didn't think it was as funny as I did.

Right. This is your brain on no food...or rather my brain on no food, because I was virtually fasting the last couple days. The muddled thought began with the fact that Easter celebrated what originally was the Vernal Equinox, even though it doesn't really line up anymore.

You meant what I knew.

How many eggs came back, out of curiosity?

We opted out. Home Depot was open until 6pm today, rather than 8pm, so that makes it a pretty important holiday.

Now what services are available that late in the day?

Considering they were haphazardly scattered about the acre for easy retrevial by the 3, 4, and 5 year olds, I'd guess we got them all... but I didn't actually count. We'll find out when it's time to mow. ;)

Unfortunately, every Christian holiday is made pagan somehow. I try to tell people that, but brainwashing has taken an effect on them.

It's not really so unfortunate. The pagans knew how to have a good time much better than the Judeo-Christians. Fasting and masses are no good for the masses.

—Alorael, who invites you to think of the pagan creep as Great Vehicle Christianity.

Heh. My parents didn't think I was serious when I said that Santa Claus and the Holiday Tree were the modern day equivilent of Baal and Asherah. Imagine their surprise when they woke up Chrismas Day to find the Holiday Tree cut down and Santa Claus sitting in the middle of the raging inferno I created with the branches.

I think most of their surprise was due to the fact that the Holiday Tree was made of plastic and metal.
