The main page of the forums no longer links to the profile of the most recently joined member. Is this some kind of anti-spambot countermeasure?

It seems to me like it links to the newest member. Maybe it was just broken for a bit.

I think you might be losing it.

Huh. It's working now. Okay, chalk it up to UBB weirdness.

The UBB has been acting weird the last few days with internal server errors and causing double posting through slow response times. Some of the pages take excessively long to open and load compared to usual, especially forum topic lists.

I saw that too, and assumed that it was because the user it would normally link to was deleted. I guess not.

Wait, does that mean the next eager young newb who joins up will actually be getting a used account, whose brief-tenured previous owner was a spambot?

I hope you at least hose their user numbers down a few times after deleting them.

Why? The newbs might enjoy that used underwear feeling! :P

Wawa, I strongly suggest you don't double-post. Especially when the posts are utterly useless in the first place.

Under the circumstances, I don't think wawa should post at all. Pretty much all he/she/both/neither has said so far has been tasteless spam.

Wawa falls into the "three-way" newb category. He/she/it/a combination/none can either leave, reform, or continue and eventually be banned.

-X- started out like that. And see how he turned out?

Does that 'welcome our newest member' thing on the main page always (supposed to be) there, or does it disappear when someone new hasn't signed up recently?

It's just that I can't help noticing that it has disappeared.

Perhaps it just doesn't appear whenever the newest member's account has been deleted.

Speaking of new members accounts, I think another one will be deleted soon.
In related news, the boards are moving up in the world! We've moved from sexbots accounts to car insurance salesmen accounts. What could be next?
