I'm sure that several of us have googled ourselves. What I'm wondering is how many of us have googled our own sceen names? Was it something you expected or did the results completely blindsight you? I'll start first. I was stunned to find out that I'm actually a small, remote village near Mozambique, in South Africa. [ Tuesday, October 10, 2006 16:19: Message edited by: Nioca ] -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Andraste is very common, so I didn't google it. My other two screen names however, are quite unique. -------------------- You acquire an item: Radio Free Foil Posts: 1169 | Registered: Monday, September 23 2002 07:00 |

As per usual, I get the Turkish city of almost the same name (Ephesus is the normal spelling)... not very interesting. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. There are no results for Tullegolar. However, the name I use everywhere else, which I may share someday should I find you worthy, is also, interesting enough, a tiny city in Côte d'Ivoire, Africa. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

Let's see... Spiderweb, Slarty v. Desk, Desk v. Slarty, Return of the Spiderwebbers, Polaris, Jadewolf's forums, RIFQ, and finally, on the third page, an Ambrosia boards member who isn't me despite using my moniker. I looked into it before and it turned out to be a deliberate and brief imitation. Then there's Icshi's page, Ptolus boards, and scattered throughout a lot of ermarian.net. I guess I'm alone out there. —Alorael, who used to have another presumed imitator using his name in some kind of online space conquest game. The links are no longer available on Google, so that must have lapsed too. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Most of the results for Tyranicus are about me. There are a couple of people on other forums who use the same name apparently. -------------------- "Tyranicus is about the only one that still posts in the Nethergate Forum." —Randomizer Spiderweb Chat Room Shadow Vale - My site, home of the Spiderweb Chat Database, BoA Scenario Database, & the A1 Quest List, among other things. Without even looking I'm gonna wager that there are quite a few results for my moniker. Maybe even a few pictures too! Edit - 211,000 hits, 8 images, 1 news item. Sadly when I put my moniker in quotes it only returns 2 pages of hits, mostly about me. :( Where have all the salmon gone??? "Lenar Labs" Comes upwith 266 hits, all of which deal with yours truly and/or his motley company. Most of them are from the Forums, Diki's fan work, or the Shadow Vale archives; however, I did get three hits on my own site. You know, the previews from the forum have a lot of the older stuff on them... I find it quite nice that people have just started calling me Lenar. "Lenar Labs" all of the time was quite cumbersome. And frankly, it's a bit more... um... friendly, I guess, than being called Grimm. -------------------- The Silent Assassin got 33,100 hits. I didn't bother to sort through them, and he doesn't care. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Ushmushmeifa: Lenar's power is almighty and ineffable. EE, LJ, an ancient mailing list, diki's script, several game forums, Warlocks, spiderweb, some long essays I wrote on Warlocks tactics, some unfortunately public spidweb chats, the a4 item list, slarty vs desk, the novel I wrote seven years ago, my elementary school alumni page, boardgamegeek, several others. all legitimate references to me! The shorter form of my handle gets mostly unrelated stuff, save slarty vs desk and desk vs slarty. and spidweb, and EE. my full name in quotes gets a LOT of unrelated stuff, plus: several pages about ccg tournaments I won a few years back, several ancient mailing lists, a concert review I wrote, a ccg strategy article I wrote, my BoE articles & examples submission, a post to a math newsgroup I made when I was 11, and a newspaper article I'm quoted in. I think I've been information autobahned! -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

quote:Wow. That is one of the most damning things I've heard about UBB (and that's saying a lot). They merge a list of strings into one string and apply a dysfunctional algorithm to choose where to insert a conjunction, rather than inserting it before merging and skipping the algorithm altogether? There's a series of books about an archaeoligist named Cairo Jim. I was stoked one afternoon when I got one of these books that had the main character that had the same name as my seen one. -------------------- When you think you can't get any lower in life and hit rock bottom, God hands you a shovel. I seem to remember a topic like this before. Dintiradan is decidedly unique, having all results pertaining to me. The PDN I use on some other boards is decidedly non-unique (un-unique? a-unique? anti-unique?), being a horrible pun, and none of the results pertain to me. -------------------- (Searches Dintiradan+"Evil Overlord", and reads missed birthday wishes from months ago on Polaris.) Um... belated thank you? This feels weird. Posts: 1509 | Registered: Tuesday, January 10 2006 08:00 |
