I'm sorry, but it needs to be said.

Whatever my one vulnerability is, I will fake a different one. For example, ordering all mirrors removed from the palace, screaming and flinching whenever someone accidentally holds up a mirror, etc. In the climax when the hero whips out a mirror and thrusts it at my face, my reaction will be "Hmm...I think I need a shave."

Hey Aran, the 2 oldest threads in general in PPP are broken.

Many are broken. Few poll threads actually display posts 1-24. Argh!!!!! Deja vu!!!!!

Maybe someone will come along and devote days to fixing this problem. I doubt Aranbot could persuade Piperbot to work on it. It sounds difficult.

And didn't the PPP have a search function before?

Yes, a search function would be nice.

But take your time. Dikiyoba thinks reading the NaNoWriMo story is nice as well.

Oh yeah, if you could get a search function going, that would be absolute awesomeness times 20.

Since each topic you look at now (assuming there are no errors) gets cached in the post table, a search function will cover nearly all posts once it is written.

(This is shown in the footer line - if it says "Posts parsed from file" and "Topic written to cache", it was parsed, and if it says "Topic retrieved from cache" it was already cached.)

I also added a better error page. So the page now doesn't just break with "Database Error", but it displays a complete page with an error message and links back to the forum.

The parser itself will have to wait longer, though.

Edit: And not only can EndeavourBot (who is actually called EndeavorBot in a display of kowtowing to the Imperialist Language Manglers, sorry to you in the UK :P ) guess people's posting habits, he can now post and edit in my name. :)

Speaking of which, I just saw that better error page. It's down again.

Which part of "is currently suffering from the technical stupidity of its admin" did you think I wasn't aware of? :P

*click*

There, back. One of the problems with developing on two different computers is that you need to watch out before making changes to a file, or you risk deleting the changes you made from the other computer.

This is the second time today - roles reversed this time. Yay for tracking Karma from now on. :)

That's better than what I got a couple minutes ago. It was just this big block of code with the occasional member thrown in for variety.

I was wondering, why is there a stat for current post count but not for total post count? To discourage spamming? Or to encourage spamming in blissful ignorance?

Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword,
For it too has the power to kill.
However well placed word, unlike a well placed sword,
Can also have the power to heal.

I place one position lower than Jeff on that list. The point? When I went to read it, I accidentally read Jeff's stats with my name. I knew something was wrong when I read that my title was 'Board Administrator'.
