Is it just me or has the General forum been kind of inactive lately too?

I guess so....

But this would also free up a lot of people so they can spend more time on the boards.

It's just that all the bots are down for maintenance.

Exactly my point. Or maybe was just a word put without a reason, who knows?

Yes, but the Geneforge results can be explained the same way. :P

Geneforge is newer, so I'd expect more active discussion about it to be visible. People have already done their gabbing about the Avernum trilogy and by now A4 should be dominating the babble.

Geneforge is not just for the newly involved youngsters of Spiderweb. It is just a different style and type of game and, therefore, really compare the two without personal byass as to what type of games you like.

While mentioning a lack of posts, I've noticed that the MacGamer's forums are quite limited now a'days.

I love both games, but Avernum/Exile has been around for longer, and has a stronger sense of history and background.

Also Blades of Exile/Blades of Avernum have encouraged more player participation and interaction.

There is something epic/historic about Avernum, in contrast there is more of a futuristic/sci-fi feel about Geneforce. The tradition of RPGs is very much the former (though the latter is getting stronger, from Fallout to modern, high-end titles such as Mass Effect).

So Avernum is a old-favourite?

Someone has tried with Exile?
