Is it just me or has the General forum been kind of inactive lately too? [ Wednesday, July 19, 2006 09:09: Message edited by: Odim ] Posts: 626 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I guess so.... But this would also free up a lot of people so they can spend more time on the boards. Posts: 626 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Geneforge is newer, so I'd expect more active discussion about it to be visible. People have already done their gabbing about the Avernum trilogy and by now A4 should be dominating the babble. —Alorael, who is quite certain that Jeff knows TM's opinion of his games. On the other hand, TMs are part of life on the internet and he increases the value of Blades significantly. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Geneforge is not just for the newly involved youngsters of Spiderweb. It is just a different style and type of game and, therefore, really compare the two without personal byass as to what type of games you like. -------------------- "After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one." - Cato the Elder (234-149 BC) "The mind, if it exists, is nothing but an unfortunate after effect of the brain process." -Kripke "One should die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly." -Friedich Nietzche Posts: 333 | Registered: Saturday, May 20 2006 07:00 |

While mentioning a lack of posts, I've noticed that the MacGamer's forums are quite limited now a'days.

I love both games, but Avernum/Exile has been around for longer, and has a stronger sense of history and background. Also Blades of Exile/Blades of Avernum have encouraged more player participation and interaction. There is something epic/historic about Avernum, in contrast there is more of a futuristic/sci-fi feel about Geneforce. The tradition of RPGs is very much the former (though the latter is getting stronger, from Fallout to modern, high-end titles such as Mass Effect). -------------------- Behind, the sea of time and space roars and follows swiftly Posts: 280 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |
