SubTerra is one of the greatest Boulder-Dash-like games I've ever played. The engine is well done, and some of the levels are truly amazing and creative, like Laws of Physics. The humor is a nice touch. The level editor is also nicely done. On the other hand some levels are a bit repetitive, like Ray Tracing or Beeehive, and some levels are just too frustrating, like Nibbles (if you let your finger slip on the wrong keyboard key once, you've pretty much lost). I think there are still some bugs in the game, including in Castle Ethilo (I'm wondering if even Silver Harloe managed to finish it). Still, a great game for those who like logic puzzles. 8.9 [ Friday, February 16, 2007 23:05: Message edited by: The Lurker ] Posts: 363 | Registered: Wednesday, February 22 2006 08:00 |

For the unholy bastard child of Dig Dug and Chip's Challenge, it's a good game. 7.8 -------------------- "You're drinking liquor because you're thirsty? Having carnal knowledge of Chip's Challenge is an insult? :P Edit: I can't for the life of me figure out why my UBB tag didn't become a link. I'll just attribute it to UBB and its myriad idosyncrasies. [ Monday, March 06, 2006 20:10: Message edited by: Kapfen ] -------------------- "You're drinking liquor because you're thirsty? quote:You have a space after the url=. [tried it] Gah, even that didn't work. Maybe there's some character in the URL that ubb doesn't recognize... Anyway, back on topic. I'd rate it 8.9-9.2, somewhere around there. Only trouble with it is people seem to be losing interest in it - I haven't seen Radiant around for weeks. Edit: I can't get the link working in the quote without the website going widescreen, so I've edited it out for now. It has nothing to do with the space, but rather with the "%" that is included in the link. It works just fine if you just insert the link without the UBB Code though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip%27s_challenge See? :P Posts: 1035 | Registered: Friday, April 1 2005 08:00 |

Loads of fun, with an intelligent and devoted developer. This is what distinguishes it from the games Spiderweb develops, rather than just distributes. 8.5 -------------------- http://desperance.net Posts: 35 | Registered: Friday, March 3 2006 08:00 |

Don't bump four month topics up, blah blah blah. Hey, just because I haven't played it back then doesn't necessarily mean my opinion is barred. :P Really, though, I enjoy(ed) it a lot. I've only seen some of the puzzles, but I've played enough to say that I love it, and I may go as far as saying it's my second favorite game of all time (BoE being first.) :) Some puzzles are just plain aggravating, especially ones that are based mostly on reaction. However, most of the puzzles are very fun. I recommend everyone try it out. EDIT: I think I like it even more now. I tried more leveles, and I realize that I liked it enough to do levels of my own. 9.5 [ Friday, February 16, 2007 10:04: Message edited by: BainIhrno ] -------------------- "Let us see what the new day brings." - Temas, Areni. It's a very fun game if you like puzzles. This is the Crystalshard web page. Follow the links to download it. Oh, and also, the link to the Subterra forum on that page doesn't work anymore. The official forums can be found here (although it currently has only slightly more activity than the forum here on Spidweb) [ Wednesday, June 28, 2006 22:56: Message edited by: The Stew Boy ] Posts: 587 | Registered: Tuesday, April 1 2003 08:00 |

Score updated at BainIhrno's request. Also, The Stew Boy, you might want to update your old rating, which isn't valid (it's not precise enough). Posts: 363 | Registered: Wednesday, February 22 2006 08:00 |
