As everyone new here quickly finds out, we have a fairly large and vocal :D Finnish population. I (and there are at least a couple more of us floating around spidweb) am Canadian. The tournament final, between Finland and Canada is on Tuesday, so we need a little discussion: Who do you think is gonna win? Who will be the key players? Do Finns (or any other non-Canadian peoples) even care about hockey? The tournament? This is simply no fun without Corey around. Even Rosy can't make up for it. Also, if you were a true pessimist, you would say that either way, you lose. Stop dressing in black, poseur! —Alorael, who realizes that this is a waste of a post. Please forgive him in the name of nostalgia for members who brought a certain unique something to Spiderweb. But hey- if you decide to become a porn star, at least you won't have to change your name. I mean, Magdalena Suksi? Wow. Most children your age aren't blessed with such luck, ya know. -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

I love hockey, but I lost interest in the tournament long ago. Since Canada likes beer, and I like beer... Go Canada! -------------------- The critics agree! Canada'll win. The key players will be everybody that touches the puck. I won't be watching it. I don't really care that much. NHL is more fun to watch. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Canada. But then again, Finland was never meant to beat Sweden. Or the USA. Or Czech. I suppose it's possible. I certainly hope so. Damn, I even intend to stay up all night just to see Finland get beaten. EDIT: Nice prediction, TGM. Burly Canadians? WTF? Have you abandoned the burly Spaniards? Anyway, better go to bed really early. About 8.00 PM, I would think. Like I did as a wee lad. After Pikku Kakkonen. Oh the nostalgia. -------------------- ahhahaha i rule u droool Posts: 756 | Registered: Monday, August 4 2003 07:00 |

I guess I'll answer my own questions now :D I think Canada will take it, by a two-goal margin. Every forward on Canada's team has a lot of scoring potential, they're all stars, but Lecavelier has been so strong this tourny. He'll score at least one. I'm dissapointed Finland came out over Sweden, who I thought had a much stronger team this year (I'm Swedish-Canadian ;) ) Is hockey big in Finland? 1. Swedish-Canadian + Finnish-Canadian = FIGHT! FIGHT! 2. Yes, hockey is big in Finland. 3. Keep your foul mouths off the Finnish language! Now I can never go skiing again without thinking on porn stars. And that, friends, is a weird combination. -------------------- ahhahaha i rule u droool Posts: 756 | Registered: Monday, August 4 2003 07:00 |

Ha, we won. Sadly, I was watching The Punisher with friends instead of glued to the game. I'm a bad Canadian, I know. Did I miss any spectacular shots, or was it all humdrum playing by the book ? -------------------- Part of a shot contest is knowing when to say "Yeah, I'm done", and not yelling "Frrreeedom !" like William Wallace instead.
