I hate spam in all forms. Now, when I think I have gotten myself safely sheltered from the evil spamers, I find that I have in fact opened myself up to be attacked on a front I never knew existed. How is this you may ask? Well I'll tell you how. I now get an endless stream of IM's telling me to go to this site or to go look at that or to come see this new web cam or some other very annoying message. I just can't win! What can I do about it! Become a spamer myself and spam the spamers? It sounds tempting, but for the fact that I spend my time deleting spam, I would be overwelmed by the time I sent one spamy email out. My only solition it to shoot out my computer screen with my trusty shotgun. (Where I come from we all get a shotgun when we are born. It's just part of the NBBP "new-born-baby-package".) I would hope that I don't have to resort to this drastic measure (I kinda hope I do) and can get some advice from the cool headed people here on the boards as to what to do for the pickle I'm in. -7,450 -------------------- With his last breath he took in more power then any Guardian could hold, then with a scream of pain and furry he unleashed it all to form a barrier betwen the Mantia and the Darkness. If instant messages are your problem, just set your IM program of choice to block all messages from unknown senders. If that's too radically isolationist for you, see if there's a setting that lets you check the sender before receiving the IM. It's usually not too hard to pick up which ones are from legitimate people and which are mindless bots spewing garbage links. ?Alorael, who has found another solution as well: avoid instant messaging like the plague. In my email, Yahoo is pretty good at deciphering what is spam and what is not and what is spam is redirected into the bulk box. But recently, I have been getting about 40 spams in my junk box a day! People should really try not to give out their E-mail addresses whenever possible. I have 2 E-mail accounts; one for personal and business (therefore important) mail, and another that will be more public.
