For an obscure 2d rpg? I think that's a bit much.

If you dont want it, dont buy it. Otherwise, suck it up.

But I do agree w/ you. It is overpriced...but people have to make a living somehow... IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards 25 USD1_files/rolleyes.gif)

I'd be willing to pay for it, but not 25 dollars. I am enjoying the game though, even if I just began it.

You can get a discount if you buy the whole Exile or Avernum trilogy at once. I imagine a similar offer will be available for the Geneforge trilogy once Geneforge 3 is released.

If it had been cheaper, maybe people would be more willing to buy and then make more turnover.

Bad timing maybe, but didn't Jeff used to hold 'november sadness' discounts?

There was another sadness sale. Whether there will be a late November one, or a holidays sale, or nothing at all is known only to Jeff.

—Alorael, who doesn't think Jeff will alter his prices permanently anytime soon. He apparently makes ends meet at his current prices. A few complaints about the cost aren't going to make him risk losing income. If there's anything Jeff has shown its a decided aversion to change that isn't absolutely necessary.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it. So if Jeff's making enough money now, why should he experiment with changing the price to see if he can make more? It's true that games are as a rule price-elastic (Economics, anyone IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards 25 USD1_files/tongue.gif) ?), but they're not so widely known that a change in price will have much of an effect on sales, I think. People who really want this kind of game will be willing to pay the price.

Also, putting the price too low ultimately damages shareware products. There's so much shareware junk out there going for $5 a piece, that customers are a little more trustworthy of a product going for $25, automatically thinking that that product must be of more worth.

I have ~10 Exile games. I have bought, uh... Hey, look over there- naked teens in saran wrap!

...eh. The worth of some of the other games may be arguable, but Blades of Exile is definitely worth the 30$, regardless of whether you pay the 30$ or not. IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards 25 USD1_files/tongue.gif) There are, I'd estimate, +100 good/solid/fun/etc. scenarios out there. That's 30 cents per scenario- a good deal.

PS- Hey, Sauron?

We're all amazed but not amused
By all the things that you said you'd do.
You're much concerned but not involved by
Decisions that are made by you
But we are sick and tired of hearing your song,
Telling us how you are going to change right from wrong,
'Cause if you really want to hear our views,
You haven't done nothin'.

...That's not exactly the best way to get him to tell you what it means.

Also, metaphors don't work when they are fabricated by a (mental) 10 year old who doesn't know how to spell "theoretically". And even if you had said all 16 words, it still would have been spam.
