I love this scenario for precisely this reason. :P

Me, too. Something about adventurers chasing after stuffed animals warms the soul. This reminds me how much fun these scenarios were to make.

The sheep is in the Archives in Keptus. You get the pass to access the Archives from the Traveler in Brigston, who appears there every three days or so.

Regarding CS, no I don't believe he ever finished it. He told me that he sent the scenario to Spirderweb to unlock it - he'd forgotten the password, and they posted it (without the graphics file of course) instead. I encouraged him to finish it - as you said, it wasn't half-bad, and he said he would try.

I didn't hear anything back from him, so it seems this is yet another unfinished work due to, in part at least, the actions of Spiderweb. Bummer.

The version I have is last modified 1/17/2000 - I don't think he ever sent me an updated scenario, just the graphics. I haven't sent it yet - not forgotten, just have to get to it.

Regarding Caer Selwyn, I emailed the author about that ages ago and he was kind enough to send me the graphics file. I can send it out when I get a chance, anyone besides Mab interested?

Beltran is the cook at the inn in the empire Capital. Go ask him about Howie.

The rune is part of a hidden fourth quest you can do. Once you finish any one quest and return to the hut in the swamp, someone mentions going out to town that night. Return that night, and you'll get a chance to follow that person. Do so (carefully), and eventually you'll end up at the rune.

Viel Gluck!

Hey now, in my scenario's defense the concepts were built around the story, not the other way around. Granted, I designed the puzzles to show off the concepts, but the story is still what moves things along. :P

A better example would be Isle of Boredom, which is also where Creator did something similar to what you described with that portculli / counting the party / can't leave Combat Mode bit.

Script import / export in Blades of Avernum

Forgive me if this has been discussed already, but I'm new here . . .

Will BoA support the ability to import and export scripts? The examples Jeff posted look really cool, but it would be nice to be able to easily replicate scripts one has already written. Or could this be done with copy and paste and a text editor?

Furthermore, this would really help those who are less-programmingly inclined - if we could create a library of scripts that designers could use, it would speed up design and help everyone make better scenarios.

Many, many user-created scenarios are much better than the three it comes with. Blades is the best $30 I've spent. Highly recommended.

And for the most part, hints are almost always given out for the better scenarios (those more people have played).

Something I recently noticed . . . BoE for my PC (running Windows 2000) can't handle folder names with a "." in them. The program itself works fine, but any custom graphics don't appear in the Scenario Editor.

Just something to be aware of.
