Magic is specialized. Some monsters will be damaged more by one type then another. Fire creations for example will die quicker with mental damage spells and Kill while Magic creations will barely be effected by the above examples.

Jeran was mentally confused by now. His information on lich and all undead came from old books he had somehow appropriated from wherever possible. Lich were most certainly the vilest form of undeath, mad wizards or deranged sorcerers who chose to prolong their life at the expense of their soul.

On the other hand, most of those books had come from slightly less then reliable sources. But then again, this was the infernal maze..

He decided to follow the lich as it swept from the room. There were no visible guards here, but that said nothing. It could mean this lich was so powerful it had no need for guards, or they were invisible, or shades. The possibilities raced through his mind as he followed Dazzle.

They passed through a long hall, Crimson as the rest of the place. It was not a particularly unpleasant colour, and after the maze positively refreshing, but it was also…odd. This was either the maddest or sanest lich in the universe. Either way, he was likely to get his immortal head impaled on a pike in any “real” circle of lichdom.

So he followed the dread being through into the dining hall, here at least the artist had decided on a tasteful grey. Jeran stared up at the rafters for a second then noticed the food. A lot of it, surprisingly it was not the fare of the dead, who usually ate nothing at all or let the food rot for a few weeks so it was a state they could actually taste, but food that had actually been cooked and prepare. The lich either had very strange tastes or he entertained more guests then he let on.

“Sit” Dazzle said. Closer to Jeran noticed the faint whispering in the air, shades, their task (Probably bringing in the food) completed had faded out of corporeal existence into the planar realms. A normal human would never have been able to detect them; Jeran on the other hand was not only more experienced but blessed with his unusual heritage.

He eyed the impressive chair at the head of the table before choosing a simpler more suitable piece of woodwork a few places down. Dazzle watched for a moment while he unhooked his impressive weapon and laid it against the table were it could be quite easily reached. Jeran was bursting with questions at this point, and also hunger. His fare of just about anything on legs was taking its toll on his weary brain. Plus he had been using magic for almost two hours now, much more stimulation of the sensory perceptions and they would start to peel. Extending one last probe he shut down everything but the basic 5 senses and sat down to eat.

And I have a special commendation for Azuma. While most certainly not the most word-perfect why my character would react, I am extremely impressed with his inturpretation of my creation seeing that he is so new at this.

Rock on!

Jeran awoke, but didn't let on. Experience had taught him that gradually waking up, yawning and stretching before becoming fully active was as good as a "hello mum!" sign for anything shadowy crouching behind a rock.

And so it was that he leapt upright so fast he strained his back, ignoring the minor pain he drew his sword in one fluid movement, standing up to his full impressive height.

He saw nothing. Feeling embarrassed and rubbing his spine he sat down again. At this point he noticed what had awakened him. It was a shade, floating in the open so as to be noticed. Unfortunately, since it had been transparent and the sun (Or whatever shone through these hellish cliffs) had passed right through it, creating an optical illusion.

He stared for a second, it looked like a harmless construct. The fact the light shone through suggested it was not malevolent in any way (Evil shades suck in light) and its highly gaseous nature suggested a messenger creation. Not taking any chances, Jeran held his blade in a non-threatening but defensive posture and addressed the entity.

“I know you’re a shade and that you can’t harm me, so what message have you to deliver being?”

He waited, the shade shimmered slightly before speaking in a traditional echoing voice.

“My master, the Lich Dazzle sent me to invite you to his castle” The creature spoke haltingly, probably having spent a more then reasonable time waiting. Jeran silently swore at himself for remaining so unaware, resolving never to ignore his senses again, for the next 20 minutes at least.

“Lich?” Jeran inquired

The shade remained silent, Jeran realised the construct had only been programmed on a limited basis.

“Very well” he said carefully “I accept the invitation to your creator’s castle”

“Follow” the shade said simply, and began retracing its steps carefully. Jeran wondered for a second if he should consider running, then realised in a place like this running was about the worst thing he could do. Extending whatever mental probes he dared risk his sanity on, he followed the shade.

Oh btw Azuma. In a script-type RP as this, a speaking character generally starts on a new line instead of having it in the same paragraph then writen over again.

Nice work Azuma. And for future referance, blue is not an exact colour for my character's skin. It's more a very dark navy blue, almost into the ebony.

Jeran Korak stood at the edge of the infernal maze, staring upwards at the towering walls of granite. Nothing could be heard from within, but his magically-enhanced senses were almost painful with the emanations of the place.

It had been a hard road, he had been a wanted man for years and his decade in the wilds had taught him much about nature and the magic that made its home among such places. And truly, this was an evil magic.

Having avoided Bustoke, fought off a group of well-armed but highly drunk bandits and surviving by casting fireballs at wet wood in hopes that they would ignite rather then explode Jeran was not in the mood to be turned back by anything smaller then a brothel. He ignored the warnings of his senses, or forcibly shut them off, a stupid move, but in its way, so very Jeran Korak.

Drawing his huge curved great-sword he strode into the maze, not seeing or caring about what path he took. Mostly because it didn't matter. He was not going anywhere, the world on the other hand was, and if he walked fast enough and didn't encounter a dead end he might just keep ahead of it.

An hour later he was lost, but that didn't matter. But no matter how many times he told himself that it didn't matter, it still mattered, and that made it worse.

Tired, angry and despondent he sat down in a small scrape in the wall, making sure his blade had not been damaged in any way before sheathing it across his back once again. He knew by experience not to attempt to start a fire with magic, and there wasn’t much to use for fire anyway here. He also deliberately forgot to cast any kind of magical shield. If you cast a shield of protection around your camp in a place like this he knew, something would without fail turn up to see why it was there. And the kind of things that investigated a magical shield didn't need swords, or teeth, or in some more extreme cases; stomachs.

So Jeran slept, he dreamed little, cared less. He was ronin, the wild one. The fact that there was probably a lot more wild ones circling him at that very second meant little to him. Even as they desended, like wraiths upon silk.

Iffy: There are many, many things wrong with your character. Here is how I'd do your character, with my revisions in italics. If you really want this character, keep it. However, you'd have to work very hard to make this fit in with the RP.

Name: Muffinto the 18th
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Height: [i]10"-6'[/i}
Weight: 2 pounds at 10in, 15 at 6ft
Magick: Can cast many fire spells and can cast a healing spell.
Skills: Controlled Growth, High Jumping. (Omitted Biting, which isn't a skill, and changed phrasing)
Occupation: Disciple of Iffy, God of Baked Goods
Biography: My name is Muffinto the 18th. However, I was born unusually powerful and I have been named First Disciple of Iffy. And I am loyal to the all powerful Iffy and The Creator.

We muffins are a secretive race. (Omitted the stuff about only those loyal to the creator know you) And we serve Iffy, who serves the Creator along with us.

We have a brief history. As one of Iffy's gifts, a loyal human was taught by Iffy himself on how to create magical muffins (Iffy can't teach anyone once he's exiled). It is extremely complicated, but he learned anyway.

He found a secure location, where he began the spell. Afterwards, five muffins were summoned. They were taught everything, they were good students. "Begin a society of muffins," were his orders. "And serve The Creator. Fight the Anama." (No cannibalism for you)

We have formed a society, and I have fathered 152 muffins (No you haven't. Try ten.). I have been asked to do very dangerous missions. But the Anama are challenging, so I am very enthusiastic. Sometimes I have had to escape, and I am very good at doing that. I am currently at home, with all the other muffins, in a hidden cove southeast of Cape Town.

I will truely enjoy blasting, eviserating, slaughtering, maiming and crushing these with the useual blur of insanely unrealistic Final Fantasy moves.
