When you speak to Stout in the Fissure Post it says that he has nice eq & a nice sword (that poisons). However, after the fight I could find nothing from his person laying around. Bug or is this how it's supposed to be? Posts: 8 | Registered: Tuesday, February 14 2006 08:00 |

Awesome. Yeah, I actually was just re-reading through my searches for Dispel Barrier. Thanks! Posts: 8 | Registered: Tuesday, February 14 2006 08:00 |

I've searched through the messages already and didn't find much that helped... Where can I get more piercing crystals? I've bought one from Jen in Grindstone, then found her other two in the basement. Is there any particular quest that I can get it on? Or anybody else in particular? I've come across maybe 5-6 this whole time and have used them all. I'm trying to finish the Mertis Spiral but need ONE more to get to where I presume the ending is. Is there any other quest I can do to get either the Dispel Barrier or piercing crystals? Posts: 8 | Registered: Tuesday, February 14 2006 08:00 |

I would really love it if maybe walls could be see-through if there's a character or monster behind it. So many times I've tried ending combat or thinking I was safe because some tiny monster was hidden behind a pillar or a wall. Also, sometimes clicking on an adjacent sq can be difficult with the angles & placement of other characters. Posts: 8 | Registered: Tuesday, February 14 2006 08:00 |

quote:I really think that Exile III had it all perfect EXCEPT maybe for graphics. Sure they were't 3d, but they got the job done. Now, call me old fashioned, but the new view at an angle, while cooler looking, makes it a lot harder to navigate via keyboard. Lots more clicking/carpal tunnel. What I'd REALLY like to see in Avernum V would be maybe a way to rotate the view or even an option to disable the 3d and go back to the 2d version ala the Exile series. The MAIN thing I would love to see is a bigger prefence panel! Options for turning off the tutorial. Options for anything I might want to tinker with. The older games did this wonderfully. The best thing about the Exile/Avernum series is the story line. Lots of fun to see it unravel. I'm working on Avernum IV for the first time through after playing all 3 Exile games and Avernum. And I guess finally, another thing I'd like to see in Avernum V is a more intuitive interface. The Exile games I could pick up, navigate around, do whatever pretty much immediately. Avernum IV had me scratching my head every now and then when I first started playing. But all and all I'll be happy with it as long as it has one of those great storylines that we've come to expect. No, it happened a lot when I started a new party. Every time I encountered somebody or something I hadn't seen before it would stop me, and pop open some little dialogue box. It was like a tutorial but I just wish there was a way to disable this... Not so bad any more that I've progressed a bit, I'm not really seeing them any more. They're seriously driving me insane. I couldn't find anything about them in the preferences. Is there a hack to a plist file or anything just to get rid of them? Posts: 8 | Registered: Tuesday, February 14 2006 08:00 |

I *really* hope that the Exile Trilogy gets carbonized. I started playing on Exile III and became hooked so I played Exile II. Then I became hooked on that and played Exile I. I didn't care for Blades of Exile. I played Avernum III but it's just not the same. It's exciting to see the continuation of the story line in Avernum 4.
