*Sigh*

Nalyd is growing seriously discouraged with his plot now.

Godson's Dagger, which you mentioned, is one of the items needed to return Jeff Vogel to godhood. Nalyd chose it as the item for the Chapel of the Fallen Might to shelter. It was being taken to a secret, warded chamber in the tunnels underneath the island the Chapel is on. A mutated creature attacked the carrier and inadvertently took the dagger.

That's up to you, Iffy.

The dagger in the IC post was Godson's dagger.

A thickly robed figure ran down a long, dark tunnel towards a faint, misty light. Sweat beaded on her face, and she glanced around her as if expecting an attack. Chitters and odd clacking noises sounded around her, echoing ominously. Her torch illuminated only a small circle around her, and her maps were rendered stained and unreadable by the moisture of the caves. A trail of blood drops ticked her path upon the stone.

A loud moan forced her to whirl around, robes billowing, a dim nimbus of flame forming around her free hand. A wave of her torch, a gleam of pale flesh, and fire lashed in the darkness. A louder chorus of moans, and a pattering of feet on stone. She whirled and lurched her way towards the tunnel end, coughing blood.

A chittering blur flew past her ear, slashing wildly. Gasping, she started and fell heavily against the side of the cave. As she tried to rise, a shambling monstrous mutation of a human came into the dimming aura of the torch. She reached within her cloak and withdrew an elaborately runed dagger, glowing brightly and humming loudly. She rose unsteadily and pushed herself at the. . . thing. They both collapsed in a bloody writhing heap. A hundred miniature arms on its torso clawed through the heavy robes and slashed at her flesh. Flailing wildly with the dagger, she hacked into its side, but when she attempted to wrench it out, it had healed over the wound and she could not. With a deafening roar, it wrenched her into its whirling maw.

--------------------------------------------------

At the monastery, Munigant's writhing stopped for half a moment, and he screamed with pain-filled words.

"She failed! The dagger is taken! A. . . god has- surfaced!"

With a gasp, he collapsed back into a chaotic ball of guts and smoke.

Nalyd gets the impression that they're arranged as they appear on the front page. General first, then you have to pass through Tech Support, etc. Especially judging by how the Noob Army advanced.

Blatantly open invitation for some actual contact with another RP'er.

Munigant would not heal. When healing magics were cast upon him, their casters suffered his pain, and the wounds regrew upon his flesh. The wound would not fester or become infected, either. His torn entrails continually spilled themselves over the blood-drenched hospital bed and steamed in the cool air. But he could not die, either. His wounds had not killed him outright, so he would not die. It evaded him. It had been his one fear these many centuries, to sustain such a grievous wound that it would never heal, but he would live. Many dark hours had been spent thinking upon it. But never had he thought of the joy.

Pure ecstasy coursed through his body, surpassing the sexual and encroaching upon the realm of the impossible. Far greater than any survivable drug, more consuming than a full stomach to a man starved since birth. He was unable to comprehend thoughts anymore, merely the sensation, the strength he absorbed from it, the power he felt. He was unreachable. More dead now than ever before, and completely introverted.

Darkly robed figures were clustered around his body, etching glowing symbols into the air and into the wound, then falling back, clutching their stomachs in agony. Their wounds would heal, but his would not. It etched itself too fast, expanding faster than it could be contracted. If ever it was fully healed, it would be gone forever. But even the entire monastery couldn't reduce the bleeding death-mark to less than an inch's width. More was needed, but their flagging strength was proving unable to maintain a smaller wound, let alone destroy it.

Their Prophet and Visionary was shamed and cursed, unreachable to them. They needed more healers, more warm bodies to take the pain of their link to the gods. Despair stalked them through the echoing halls, and as the foreseen event approached, they knew that their Prophet must be healed, or the Vale was doomed.

Indefinitely. As in, Nalyd has no idea when he won't be grounded anymore. New Year should be fine, though.

They opened movable portals and cast magic through them. Ahonar sent a demon through their scrying pool.

Munigant, along with the rest of the monks watching the scrying pool, saw the airship crash over New Colonia. Along with them, he saw the ensuing battle and intervention of the Archmage of Force, Rahona. He saw the Anama "incinerated". But he also saw Ahonar as what he was. For a fleeting instant, Nalyd's hand wiped away the illusion to Munigant's eyes alone. He saw the ever present wooden shell, the glaring beacon shooting from beneath it. Munigant reacted.

"It is the Wooden One! Destroy-"

A score of glaring-red portals ripped through the air surrounding Ahonar, and a dozen more opened in front of the monks in the room. They were the elder ones, well versed in all magic, and had learned unfailing loyalty to Munigant. Tortuous, screaming souls ripped from Munigant's hands and plunged through the ominous bloody holes, leaving deadly vapors in their wake. Scintillating beams of death shot from his fingertips, lancing wildly to the air around the demigod. Thousands of miniature black-smoke needles erupted from his scarred palms bringing death to whatever they touched. Bloody swaths of supernatural black cloth spewed from his mouth, snaking, grabbing, crushing. Black and white lightning mingled in his eyes and fired, searingly, through the ozone-clogged air.

The other monks saw what he did and did the same, and had fireballs and acid gouts, along with more exotic magics, target the demigod. The scene in the scrying room was chaotic, monks randomly firing everything they could into jagged red holes in the air. In the scrying pool, however, it was far worse. In less than a death-filled second, deathly holes had ripped from the air and began zipping wildly around the "Archmage". Then the magics came through. Within a moment, the air was filled with death and doom. Shades leaped from nothingness to vanish into the swirling mass of madness.

Then it stopped. All of the portals flew away into the air with screams, and the assault sprayed in lines following their deflected paths. The scrying pool remained functioning, and the (now naked, as all of the clothes had been obliterated) figure of the "Archmage" turned slowly, going to it's origin. The Wooden Man smiled and leisurely stretched out a hand. A flash of light blasted through the pool, showering the holy water into the room with a tremendous shockwave. A demon stood in the pit where the pool had been. Grinning maniacally with tube-like teeth, it drew a long and jagged razor sharp stick of metal undeserving of the name "Sword", due to a design that looked as if it was completely unintentional that there was any kind of overall straightness to it at all.

The monks had been painfully picking themselves up before a paralyzing wave shot through the room, except for Munigant, who was still standing. The demon spoke with Ahonar's voice.

"Shall I feed you, Prophet?"

The weapon plunged into Munigant's gut violently and quickly. Not because of any sharpness, as it varied over the entirety of the blade, flat as a hammer in some places and all but one-dimensional in others. No, it plunged quickly because of the immense strength of the demon, who withdrew it nearly as quickly, plunged again, and again, and again, trailing guts and entrails in the jagged edges and ripping contours of the blade. Laughing, the demon knelt to the bloody pulsing hole in the stomach of the magically paralyzed Munigant. With horrible crunching sounds, it began to eat.

"Be like your banished god, Undead!"

It vanished. Time began again. Munigant collapsed into a writhing and screaming blood-spewing blur on the floor until he passed out from blood loss. The other monks rushed and gathered around him, attempting to heal. As his wounds disappeared, they etched themselves in smaller, less deadly versions upon the monks, proportionate to whoever had done the most healing.

Munigant's mind swarmed with the sweet, sweet ecstasy of the pain.
