I am at the very beginning of GF3. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong here but the option in the dialogue isn't appearing after I complete a task that the NPC asked... Kentia south gate : Meraia has a quest to kill a worm (located SW). I had killed everything there before I talked to Meraia, roamed around to make sure the worm didn't maybe trigger AFTER the conversation with Meraia but... no worm (I'm assuming he's refering to a worm IN south gate right?)... talked to Meraia again but the dialogue otion wasn't there. Kentia : Alillia at the inn asks me to take care of the rogue Atilla in the stables. I found the atilla (south east in Kentia)took its essence but in speaking to Allilia again, the dialogue option wasn't there either... so in other words, these quests still appear as incomplete in the quest book... could someone please tell me what's up? Is this a common bug or am I just missing something? -------------------- "Military justice is to justice what military music is to music" -G.M. I read some threads and many of the "annoying" things that were taken away were things I happened to like. Maybe these same "annoying" things were annoying for a specific reason and could have, instead of being omitted completely, been simply edited or modified. I decided not to purchase the game but I'm trying GF3 and actually enjoying it far more... I do have the same basic questions for GF3 but will post them later in the respective category... -------------------- "Military justice is to justice what military music is to music" -G.M. This is important to me, I'm done with the demo and I'm at the point where I'm thinking whether I should buy the game or not. I already own the other Avernum games and I was reading some posts and I'm seeing many criticisms about Avernum IV compared to the previous ones. I'd like some opinions on the good points about Avernum IV compared to the other Avernums. Any feedback on why this would be a good buy? -------------------- "Military justice is to justice what military music is to music" -G.M. Posts: 52 | Registered: Wednesday, March 10 2004 08:00 |

quote: Hi Please don’t spend the majority of the time working on “prettier graphics”. The reason for your fan base is the unique and wonderful storytelling and the immense game play, the multiple outcomes and freedom you give the player are a rarity in most games. While a few graphic tweaks are always appreciated, without the story there would be no real reason to play your games. .... but both are not necessarily mutually exclusive -------------------- "Military justice is to justice what military music is to music" -G.M. gotcha, thanks for the info... but why would rep. be taken away in the Avernum IV? Has it been replaced in one way or another? and what about the first point regarding conversation/ persuasion? The reason I'm asking is because I created a thief (a class which I usually like having in a party) and I like attributing that sort of skill to him/her... -------------------- "Military justice is to justice what military music is to music" -G.M. I have two questions about contact and talking with NPCs: 1. would like to know if there is a skill which determines what the outcome of a conversation will be (or if different options appear in the dialogue responses). In talking to "Oliver" the merchant , in the very beginning of the storyline, he says he went past the guards based on some kind of persuasion skill... that's why I was wondering. 2. In the manual I read that completing quests will "earn better reputation..." How or where is "reputation" indicated? -------------------- "Military justice is to justice what military music is to music" -G.M. Posts: 52 | Registered: Wednesday, March 10 2004 08:00 |

where is it? Could anyone help me please!? I've searched everywhere in that area (looks like a tower when you get in) where all the panels and golems are after you have to fight off all the altered beasts and in the waste disposal area and couldn't find anything... also, i can't find a way through the poricullis in that waste disposal area. .. thanks -------------------- "Military justice is to justice what military music is to music" -G.M.
