I will. I'm still trying to work out whether it is in there or in the Abandoned Mine. I know that all three are in the Goblin Pits for the Celts, so I initially assumed the hintbooks was right that all three are in the equivalent Roman dungoen. I feel like I've missed a secret passage in the mines, or something. But if the FAQ says it is somewhere elsewhere I'll go with that. -------------------- Kids! I'm currently playing Nethergate as romans. I have never gotten very far playing this faction (I've won as Celts), but recently decided to give it another go. I'm looking for Key III (I want all the loot I can get). The hint book indicates it can be found in the Abandoned Mine, but I can't find it anywhere. I think I have gotten all the way through Level 3 (except for a place with a very tall ledge and no way for me to live through the fall). Checking Schrodinger's Page, I learn that it should be in Galag-Trav. The description of where it is spcifically is a bit vague and has a gramtical error. Can anyone give me a location for the item? The level of a dungoen, and directions as to how to get to the spot? The hint book sadly does not have maps for either dungeon. edit: spelling error [ Tuesday, November 15, 2005 07:23: Message edited by: Eseme ] -------------------- Kids! A year! Argh! I'd save money by buying the whole thing at once. I like to get the gmaes, books, and CDs. Dang. I guess I'll have to wait. Maybe I'll look into the Avarnum trilogy, but I really like Geneforge. -------------------- Kids! Bringing about Armageddon can be dangerous. Do not attmept it in your own home. I used to hang out onthese boards a lot. I was in something called college. I've just gotten a new job- one that I am really happy with. I decided I should celebrate by finally getting Geneforge- I've got the demo and really like it. I saw that Geneforge 3 is coming out soon. Does anyone know if there will be a trilogy pack of all three games? If I just wait a couple months could I get all three at once? My Mac would be so happy. :D -------------------- Kids! I am doing a presentation on Geneforge in my Game AI class. I want to actually show some parts of the AI- in particular Roamers running off to get help and ganging up on the player. I have saved games on my Mac. My professor has a PC laptop. If we downloaded the Geneforge demo onto her PC, I would think that the Mac saved games would be useless. However, I'm not sure. Could someone clarify this? Otherwise I'm putting the demo on a friend's Power Book and transfering the saved games. Thanks. -------------------- Kids! Bringing about Armageddon can be dangerous. If you know anything about computer programming, Stuff Done Flags are variables. They are used as a notation to track values. Think of it as a big table- with 300 rows numbered 0-299 and 10 columns numbered 0-9. A Stuff Done Flag's numbers mean this: go to the propper row, then move down to the proper column. Thus 110,5 is row 110, column 5. You can keep track of them in a table, or in a Notepad or SimpleText file, noting them by row and column with a desctiption of when it was used and what value it is tracking. Example: 110,5 - player received gold for killing the goblin. 0 initially, set to 1 in conversation with Myra (personality 5 ) in Doram (Town 2) There you go, Stuff Done Flags in a nutshell. The hardest part is getting in the habbit of writing it dwn. The important thing is that you have 3000 variables that can be used to track events in your scenario. -------------------- Kids! I've made one BoE scenario, and it was for begining (level 1) parties. It has something resembling a plot, decent dialog, and I'd like to think fighting is not the end all and be all of the scenario. Your milage may of course vary. I would certainly agree with those who argue that plot is more important than combat. -------------------- Kids! Bringing about Armageddon can be dangerous. I bought my Mac new in September, and it has both 9.2 and X. I hadn't heard that they changed the configuration since then. There isn't tons of X-native software out there, so I think they are still shipping 9,2. It is just that X is the default OS. That info probably won't help you with the hard drive loss. I know how that feels. My older machine, which I couldn't bear to part with, had a hard drive failure a couple of months ago. nothing recoverable- including BoE and any and all save files I had... Got a new hard drive, but I need a new copy of BoE. -------------------- Kids! Bringing about Armageddon can be dangerous. Do not attmept it in your own home.
