Alright, I've been outta the loop for a while, and didn't even realize there was an AV4 until about a week ago. So I've got the demo, about to order the full game, and granted my opinion will carry little weight as I've only seen a small portion of the game. Anyway, Avernum 4 has been exciting and a disappointment for me at the same time. I'm enjoying the story so far. Seem a bit of rehashing, similar a bit to the plagues of Avernum 3, but different enough to keep me interested so far. NPCs are as good as ever, and a few of the gameplay tweaks I've enjoyed. However, a lot of the gameplay tweaks I haven't enjoyed. As I believe someone has already pointed out, it's basically dependent on a combination of mouse and keyboard, which I'm not fond of. I'm not a big fan of the map either. The first time I played I was confused as hell by the transition form dungeon or city to outside. I left that little goblin dungeon to arrive on the outside in that swamp. I thought I was just in a really big, open area of the dungeon until I stumbled on Fort Monastery. Me, personally, I enjoyed having a transition between overworld map and city/dungeon map. That's pretty much all the input I have, though. Posts: 287 | Registered: Thursday, February 13 2003 08:00 |

Are you talking about that hidden bandit lair south of Marralis? If so, I've been there but found no evidence that I killed the guy while clearing it out, and when returning to Brundig still don't get the quest cleared. Is he in a hidden room someowhere in there, or is it somewhere else? EDIT: Nevermind, now I found him. What was that stupid lil' goober doing hiding back in that corner where he blended in so well with the background? Okay, I feel like an idiot for even asking this since it's prob'ly an insanely simple answer. But, where the heck is Elram? The guy that Brundig in Sweetgrove wants hunted down? I flew through the whole scenarion in a few hours, but now just as I'm about to leave it I look back and see that one unfinished quest. Posts: 287 | Registered: Thursday, February 13 2003 08:00 |

A comment in another recent topic got me to thinking about, and the question would be too limited by a regular poll. Who's your favortie NPC in the Avernum series, and why? For me it's a close split, but I'd say Rentar-Ihrno edges out Erika. Yes, Rentar's supposed to be evil, but when you think about it, she's really no different than most leaders of a people. She took her revenge to extremes, but the theft of the crystal souls basically equates to if somone destroyed the Statue of Liberty. She's fairly well developed, too. There's my vote. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or had any idea what to do about it. I use Internet Explorer as my browser, and today I opened it up and for some reason all images are replaced by that small little box with a red "X." I can right click on each one, and select show picture and it comes up fine, but otherwise nada. Any suggestions? It's a bit annoying to spend ten minutes displaying each picture one by one to be able to view a website. Posts: 287 | Registered: Thursday, February 13 2003 08:00 |

Aside from some other decent loot of the type you usually find in dungeons the only thing aside from getting Pachtar's is the satisfaction of winning a fairly challenging battle. Two Drake Lords at once, plus a few Nagas are in there as well. Posts: 287 | Registered: Thursday, February 13 2003 08:00 |

Yall are going in the completely wrong direction for a movie. Carmen Electra should play Erika, Pamela Lee should be Prazac, David Hasselhoff should be Anaximander. The Heroes should be played by various blondes in tight red, skimpy outfits. The movie should be called ExileWatch. Great cast for the perfect movie.
