OOC: MSW had specifically said humans only. sorry  IC: Raymond started checking supplies. They were depleted alright. 3 days of rationed bread, a beef jerky, and a dozen crackers was all the food he had left - he was fortunate to have found these people. Other than that, though, he still had 3 looted rolls of gauze and 10 shooting spears. He did not want to be one of the patrols; if he had survived for so long, he had no reason to risk his life for another night. "Oh no," Raymond muttered as he heard the gears moving beneath him. "Everyone take cover!" Explosions rocked the ground close to Raymond, Eferas and Rey. Rings of fire filled the ground in front of them as square patches of earth exploded like a domino effect. "Good job, whoever did that," Raymond sighed. "Somebody fired off the emergency trap trigger... I should have told them to look for two STONE pillars about as tall as me." He looked at the ground in front of them. The ground was burning as if it were some sort of maze. Indeed, Raymond knew, it was. At least, it took one of the people who built the underground bunker to know how to pass the now-burning ground... Ray had almost reached the party, when an imp threw itself into his left arm, causing him to drop his spear launcher. "Curses!" The bladesman screamed before giving it a solid gloved punch between the eyes. Strangely enough, the imp disappeared in a puff of black smoke. The attacking force of demons is definitely an illusion, though the imp did leave a claw mark on his sleeve. OOC: Ray Law got accepted, so I'm moving on. And yes, MSW, he's one of the survivors, most likely the only one. IC: When Ray came to, it was dusk. He could hear demons all over the place. He checked to see if he was injured during the fight. Other than a few scratches and a skid mark on his vest of enameled armour, minor bleeding on his forehead, and a torn bandana that he ripped off and dropped on the ground, he was alright. Knowing that he didn't have much time before the nearby demons would spot him, he quickly cleaned and bandaged his head wound, and loaded his spear launcher. Ray, gripping his spear launcher with his right hand and armpit, stood up and took a look around. This seemed to be the temple that the settlers tried to get to. Now, it was filled with demons - he knew he was right in assuming there would be a demon outpost here soon. Quietly, he snuck out of the temple, crawling behind heaps of debris and such to avoid attention. To be safe, though, he pushed down a barely supported pillar to distract the demons present. It caused a chain reaction, one pillar crashing into the next. In the distance, Ray could see a large party of adventurers. He could also sense demonic magic all over the place. Taking one last look back at the now more ruined temple, he made a run for the party... OOC: I'm going to try something sorta new - I'll be a someone coming OUT of the portal  I have been in this burning world for weeks. Let's hope there is a route to a friendlier environment. Raymond Law looked upon the surrounding landscape from atop a hill. Though there were, fortunately, no demons nearby, he was far away from anything remotely friendly. Barely visible, in the distance, were several heavily guarded portals - those must be where demons are summoned from this blasted realm to other places. A few were less populated, and some were almost deserted. Were the ones with less demons meant for invasions that some demon lords had planned? Possible, but it wouldn't matter because it'd be easier for Ray to just rush through and escape this world. One, according to what he could see, led to some ruin that was overrun with grass - it was this portal that Ray decided to head through. Loading his spear launcher, Ray hid behind a pillar close to an encampment of red orc-like demons. The largest one, wielding an axe that was larger than Ray's body on one hand and demonic fire on the other, was probably the leader. Action. The agile traveller turned around, and fired the loaded spear at the overlord, who blocked the missile with ease. Ray then quickly replaced his spear launcher with a razor-sharp katana and beheaded a demon charging at him. Dodging a second demon, Ray nearly walked into the overlord's demon fire. Several other demons began to close the portal - it was then that Ray decided to make a run for his life, before the portal completely closed. He made one last kill before jumping through the portal.
